Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the Mortal Kombat X Official Briggs Family Trailer, which showcases cybernetically-enhanced Major Jackson “Jax” Briggs and his daughter Jacqueline “Jacqui” Briggs.
The character design is really going the right way although what fascinated me on the first three games was the use of real actors. It would be cool if they could aim more towards realistic looking characters what with the current technology instead of being a bit cartoonish. Guess that's the direction they chose that to "lighten" the brutal nature of the games.

Last night I've played Mortal kombat the 1st and i really say the same thing, if only they make a comeback to the roots, and with the technology we have now... but it's only a dream.
Do you mean rasterized sprites again? That would be more of a nostalgic novelty these days, and probably a total waste of money. There's no way they'd risk pissing money away like that, given the production costs of a game these days; not to mention, it would be a completely different workflow that no one really does any more. If you mean by scanning people with 3d software a'la sports games like Fifa, they still haven't crossed that threshold of being completely convincing or photo-realistic either, so it makes better sense to just let an artist use their imagination for characters. Maybe in about 15 years, eh?
