Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One

Cold Symmetry and Playstack just announced that Soulslike Dungeonhaven is now called Mortal Shell and should be released between July and September of this year on PC, Playsation 4 and Xbox One. A closed beta will also be made available but to find out more about it you should check out the official website.

Artistically and graphically, this game looks gorgeous. I hope it delivers on gameplay, because this art style needs to be paired with great gameplay. From the trailer, those abilities look solid and fun. Also, that transforming spear reminds me a lot of Bloodborne.

Interestingly, almost all of the Soulsborne genre games are set in medieval fantasy - even the 2D ones, I would love to see a game with this artistic style and graphics set in Victorian London, French Resistance, Middle-East eras/settings. Still, this game looks really great and the gameplay seems challenging and fun.

The original trailer on the game's website is 8Gb????!!!!! WTF??

It's .mov, that's why. That's the one we used, we just encoded it in mp4.

I know. I meant that almost all of the Soulsborne clones, if you will, are set in Medieval/High Fantasy times/settings. Basically, if we're talking about the setting, everyone's trying to make a Dark Souls game of their own, but almost no one is trying to make a Bloodborne clone of their own. So we got hundreds of Dark Souls clones, but no Bloodborne clone. At least none I can think of.

Yes! That's what I'm talking about. Though they basically completely copied Bloodborne's artstyle and made it 2D. Still gonna play it if the word-of-mouth is positive. Other people mentioned The Adventures of Va Helsing and Victor Vran, who go for that Gothic Victorian London era, though they're more like Diablo than Soulsborne.
