Still the best cloth sim I've seen in a game. Nothing else comes close. And they've been doing it since 06...

You're right, but NBA players do not use baggy jerseys anymore, they use them tighter these days, and 2K Sports haven't done anything about that.

fine by me- looks impressive this way. I don't get why it isn't used more in games- it really makes a huge difference!...

I don't think we see it much because it's either pointless due to having few ways to show it off, or would be too resource hungry for the games which could show it off (like a third person shooter or something)

Basketball is kinda perfect for this sort of tech. Few players, small court, not much else going on, camera close enough in to warrent it. Now compare that to fifa...it'd be wasted/too power hungry. Too many players, too large of a pitch, camera too far out to notice.

The fight night games where also perfect for this sort of thing with the boxers shorts, and did it better imo.

Why it isn't in things like tekken etc is beyond me, but i'd assume it could have something to do with the outfit itself. I'm guessing collision is less complicated when it's uber baggy shorts and baggy jerseys. It still goes wrong quite a bit though.

Even if it bugs out now and then I'll take it. The game is still doing it for, what?- TEN guys simultaneously. And we aren't talking cloaks and loin cloths. they are doing shirts and shorts- at a very realistic level. If you've ever messed with cloth sim, you know how impressive it really is. They also have a massive animation set for the players too.

I never thought Fight Nights cloth sim ever came close( although the last 2 games were still decent). It's just like it is in their own(EAs) basket ball franchise...

Seth sry my mistake, ye i wanted to say that they are huge fans of first parties and ready to move on and wait ages for eventual pc port. (13 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog there are people out there who are going to wait for PS5 before playing last of us 2. but even that sort of wait sounds far too excruciating to me. (14 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog @Seth: i mean, it's a viable option, but if you were a big fan of sony exclusives to begin with you'd need to have an insane amount of patience to wait 3 years to play it on PC (14 Hours ago)

  • Seth

Seth @KORNdog: yeah i don't see this happen anytime soon. it's why i find funny some people suddenly say ''i'm done, after 25 years with ps, moving to pc''. (19 Hours ago)
