Tecmo has realised five new screenshots of the upcoming title Dead or Alive 5 from Team NINJA featuring Hitomi and Ayane.

Oh yes!

Finally they realized that realistic look is the way to go and not the blowup dolls.

I love the new look, especially Ayane, fantastic outfit!

And finally some new DOA, the only 3D fighter I give a damn about :D

I saw these at work and just about exploded. Sweaty, dirty Hitomi in skinny jeans? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. Seriously I'm so glad DOA is back, I've tried so many fighters since DOA4, hoping to fill that void, but they're all trash

Agreed. I am really happy over the new design. Both Ninja Gaiden 3 and this seems to have dropped the women design that I loathed.

lol, true. DOA4 jaggies are some of the worst i've seen in a fighting game, lest us see how they handle that.

Hitomi looks so damn serious now. I can see them going for a more realisitic tone in this game.

I dunno how to describe it, but the game looks more Ninja Gaiden realistic than like the animeish style DOA3 and 4 has.

Well DoA is probably the single most graifying fighter for fighting game noobs. Just mash that shit and cool comos come out. It's a lot faster han say Tekken, VF or SF and a lot flashier too. Every character is Eddy Gordo in DoA :P

I'm glad that they are going more realistic and not making every girl look like a lifeless doll. Can't wait to see more. I've always enjoyed this series more than Tekken or Virtua Fighter.

DOA always looked damn impressive, but I could never get into it. It just isn't as tight, as complex and as refined as Tekken. Still, nice to see fighting games are still on a roll.

I've always been a bit of a fan but I still never understood how people took this franchise seriously. They're all style, no substance. That said.. Hitomi is awesome. Why is she wearing cleats and a varsity jacket though? Weird costume design.

The idea that there's just such a fine line between the two is pretty ridiculous too. There are plenty of fighters that have a pretty reasonable amount of depth and accessibility.
