Ubisoft finally remembers that Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighters exists and released this excellent trailer, with lots of new gameplay sequences to watch.
I really would like a new rainbow six game.... just like rainbow six 3 not that lockdown bullshit!! can only dream about how that would look and play on the 360 :D
When are people going to realize pics and movies dont do these(HD next gen) games any justice. You will have to see the actual game moving on the TV screen.
This game is gorgeous. The detail on the models is astounding. Just look at that........ you can see each individual stitch in their vests. The bullet sparks on the cars also caught my eye as being particularly amazing.
Releasing the mock up footage (SO convincing) was the single biggest mistake Ubisoft ever did in regards to this title. They set a target with that video, and this still doesn't come close animation wise.
The picture quality I've no gripes with apart from some screen tearing that they'll probably sort out, it's just that the panhandle camera and the GR2 style strafing (riverdance like) is miles away from what the E3 video showed and there's no going back for me. This may well be a fantastic game, and I'm quite sure it will be (I mean gameplay wise the perspective/animation won't actually change the content) but the position they put themselves in is still a fact. There's just no avoiding certain disappointment if they can't meet that quality of animation aswell.
It's just a damn shame, and something that hurts me deeply to realise. It does however confirm once AGAIN that releasing bullshit preview footage is a disservice to both consumers and the developers themselves. I even said "and this is REALTIME" too many times to count because I just didn't think Ubi were capable of decieving their fans like that.
All that said, I still keep my fingers crossed that they can deliver something reminicent of that they showed at first, and if they don't then I'll just have to judge the game on the merits of the product they present, regardless of how difficult that may be.
I just hope we'll never get the pre-rendered preview nonsense ever again, as I for one want to follow E3 and be swept away by what is shown there without the suspicion that it might be some fluffy pink dream sequence of what they might achieve if they even decide to stick to that vision.
