eventhough running on a 7 year old hardware, it is still mind boggling to me that polyphony digital still have by far the most photo realistic lighting / colors in any racing game ever (or in any video game ever for that matter). this shows the artistic mastery of photo realistim imagery that polyphony digital employees developed over time. (I dont understand why other developers cannot achieve the same realism with their lighting/colors)

I simply cant even imagine what they could achieve on ps4, they could suprise everyone and achieve near photo realism real time graphics for the first time in the history of gaming. lets dream...

I think Drive Club surpassed GT6's graphics but it's on next-gen hardware and only 30fps... PD are definitely masters at what they do

I guess i'm the only one here not too impressed by these photos. Repeating textures everywhere, sparse detail, drab rocky formations, paper cutout trees, and the buildings also somehow look like they are built from paper.

I will agree though that the baked lighting looks good and the colors are spot on for if you were to look at these from ten feet away on a small screen you might think they are photos.

Quite impressive how accurate it is in terms of ronda, especially since you would probably never see most of it while playing. Impressive though for last gen (i'm taking the step forward...PS4/xbone is officially current gen)

As for ascari, it's such a typical flat, boring track it's difficult to be impressed by it. It might be accurate to the nearest Centimetre, but a standard circuit is a standard circuit. They look boring here just as much as they look boring in other games.

but is it just "low-res" = unimpressive & "high-res" = impressive?

I mean, is it not impressive how they infer this style so neatly within the low-res limitations? The "cutout paper" look is all part of the charm here I think.

If this had been a PS4 game it honestly could have tipped the scales in PS4's favor for me. What a poor decision on Sony's part.

They'll make more money the way they've done it. 80million userbase > 1 million userbase.

Releasing a port in 6months would be the best way to do it. That way you get double dippers too.

did anyone notice the floating car in the last screen of the Ronda circuit, all of these screens look impressive and is definitely an improvement on the GT5 engine.

we all know the Ps3 has been a pain in the butt for developers to get the most out of it, i just hope the PS4 is not pushed to its limits so early on otherwise there wont be much to look forward to, the PS3 still has a few tricks left though it looks like PD are the only ones who found them.

i still hope with all these graphical touch ups the sound is overhauled to sound like cars rather than low bitrate audio samples.

The track looks fine never heard about it though lol. Forza get new cars but There are 20 unique cars coming to GT6. The first one is from Mercedes Benz. Trailer is simply epic: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0_iULLlcsSo

This looks better than GT5 for sure, but only in a few cases. For the most part, it still looks pretty lackluster. Pretty decent for the hardware it's using, but they were never that great at making impressive environments. The lighting doesn't look all that natural at all, and the lack of detail (not attention to detail, different thing) is readily apparent.
And yet half of the people seeing this will continue to shit on games like Forza for "not looking any better than current gen games."
I wish these guys were working on new hardware. A GT6 game looking as perty as Forza 5 would be great.
