Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft sent us a new video of I Am Alive. This one gives a survival advice: avoid encounters. The game will be available to download in late February or early March.

Finding it hard to be interested in this. The voice acting sound so unenthusiastic. And the animations are just lol-worthy. Plus the general artstyle and shitty brown colour pallet. Seems about on-par with something like hydrophobia.

When a game looks like this then of course it will get slammed. Especially after all the attention/hype it has gotten and the looooong development cycle.

I'm starting to think people here just can't take the game for what it is, a downloadable game. The looooooooooooong development cycle means nothing here considering the project just fell apart and everything had to be started from scratch again, more or less. Hence the release on PSN and XBLA now. But well, people have become such graphics whores these days...

But first hyped up as a retail game hasn't done it any favors. Sure its a dl-game but what I see now is just an empty shell of what could have been. A lot of lost potential with the lower amount of funding it has gotten. If they had a retail budget the aesthetics could have been so much better along with gameplay.

They are just to hot on announcing games early, just wait and make sure that you know the it will actually be finished instead of making your shareholders happy by announcing the next Messiah.

And you will notice they do not do it anymore.

I don't actually see how what we're shown can be called an empty shell. I mean, I am not saying the game will be any good, but from what I can see, it very well could. Maybe you guys need to be a bit more optimistic once in a while. It doesn't hurt after all. It seems to me all I can read here are negative comments when it comes to XBLA/PSN games. Come on, just forget the game's history and have a little faith, at least until you can give it a try and make up your mind about it once and for all.

Think there will be many more too early announcements from companies in the future.

And just recently Deadlight and Trials has gotten positive comments here on GS, there's lots of promising dl-games out there and they get the deserved praise.

Praising Deadlight at this early stage is about just as nonsensical as bashing I am Alive every time they release a promotional video. Trials is just a sequel, people know the first game is good so for them it can't be otherwise with Trials Evolution. But I get it, Ubisoft are evil, they make bad games all the time blablabla. :p

I must be an idiot but what I can see here makes me want to see more. I have managed to have fun with Gears of War however brownish it was, I think animations look ok for a downloadable game. As for gameplay mechanics, I have learned that videos are one thing, but playing the game is another. Don't worry though, I'm not trying to convince anybody, I am just saying some comments I read here are getting a bit old. Oddly enough, people seem more optimistic on the French side.

Yeah that's it, first impressions are important to me as well but i've missed out on games first time going by these.I try not to just assume where possible a game is going to be rubbish before i've played it- despite how i might want to. We can all guess if a game is going to be good or not, but even with quibbles, i've enjoyed many games regardless as well. Freedom Fighters for me is a good example of this, a game i thought looked a little laughable but ended up really enjoying

We can all of us only make educated guesses at this point really as we wont know all there is too it

Guess you guys are patriotic on that side ;)

The game just looks like crap to me but im fine if others thinks it looks awesome, no problemo brochacho.

But wouldn't these comment sections be rather dull and boring if they were void of any discussion whatsoever? Sure sometimes the whining can sound harsh but rather that that a section full of people agreeing with eachother and dancing around in a flowery meadow holding hands and singing kumbaja.

That's a bit easy don't you think? French people aren't especially patriotic, you're having us mistaken for Americans it seems. :p

And I'm not saying everyone should love the game, merely noting that I think some of you might be judging the game too fast. Your crap must look way better than mine considering your definition of it by the way. ;)

The kumbaya idea would not work, I don't like people enough to be doing stuff like that unfortunately.

Most of us it seems like to think we're right and that alone usually means we don't back down. I make a point of saying this a lot on here and that is that i labelled Bayonetta as pure rubbish way before it released. It just looked like tacky over the top nonsense with not an ounce of clever design or depth, but the reality was i was just some idiot talking crap

On the face of it, this game doesn't seem to represent anything outstanding as such but it does at least have some interesting mechanic in there that could be rather refreshing if done well. It may be a little rough to some but it is still fairly snobbish to say it's shite for example. It might turn out rubbish in some ways and still be fun in other ways perhaps or the story interesting enough that people like it for that

Beyond Good and Evil is not an especially good game for example in certain gameplay areas i don't think but it remains one of my fave xbox1 games and the reason i have two sealed copies. We could perhaps go to town on the many failing aspects of it these days and back then even but it's seen as a classic now. Freedom Fighters too shares a little of this and that's hardly perfect. Galleon another

Who actually knows for sure if this is any good other than these first impressions
