Video Xbox One

When Ubisoft announced that only the PS4 version of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag would get the 1080p patch, Xbox One - future - owners may have been a bit disappointed. Fortunately, the differences between the two versions are minor in the end and playing the game on Xbox One will be just as good an experience. On Microsoft's console, we did see a few more frame drops once in a great while and some NPC pop-up in town - even when close to the player -, but other than that, it's the exact same thing and rhum tastes just as good on either platform.
Note: Once again, keep in mind that the sound problems you can hear are due to our capture equipment, not the game.

We did capture some One footage but the problem is that the commentary sounds horrible because of our mysterious sound issues.

It is actually worse than expected. New problems, it seems that the capture software we used missed two frames every 3 frames, if that makes any sense. The result is something that cannot be used at all.

I didn't notice any difference between the 2 versions. The Xbox One version is just as smooth and fun.

I'll try and record new footage of the game on monday. I myself can't play the game well enough to make decent footage, so I'll recruit a coworker to come and play for the video.

I can see IQ differences from the vid, bit more aliasing etc, Xbone is 900p vs 1080p I think with maybe less AA, but it looks essentially the same.

I just decided to put the PS4 and X1 videos next to eachother. Resolution wise i really can't tell the difference, but the anti-aliasing patch is clearly noticeable on PS4 and lacks on X1. X1 seems more vibrant/higher contrast too. Or perhaps the reference level there is set to expanded?

To tell you the truth, i play on PC on ultra on 1080p, and downloaded this videos, and i must say that this looks like PC on ultra... ultra LOW..!!! Don't be blind ppl. im just realist.. And NO, my PC doesn't cost fortune, it cost around 600euro here in Serbia.. And i didnt pirate the game.. 0_o... I must be from another world but this looks so poor.. ( Dont know about PS4...

It's been found by some users on NeoGAF that the Xbox One internal scaler automatically sharpens the image and crushes blacks when set on full RGB on all sub-1080p games when 1080p is selected as the output resolution.

Weird. Comparisons from elsewhere tell a vastly different story. You should be happy you bought the better version, not disappointed.

Those comparisons are odd. Is that legit? These gifs make it seem the X1 version is noticeably more crisp and shows a tiny bit more, while other gifs tried to make you believe the opposite.

Remember the xbone upscaler adds a horrible sharpness filter. Maybe it's that what you're seeing? But you could achieve the same results by boosting sharpness on your TV (i prefer non personally)

By horrible do you mean better?
Because the XB1 version looks more detailed than the PS4's version. With no more noticeable jaggies

Really? Odd, because we tested both versions and AC4 on PS4 clealry has fewer jaggies and pop-up issues than the One version. Framerate is also a tad smoother and anti-aliasing a bit more efficient.

AC4 on PS4 shows a significant visual difference pre and post patch so unless the Xbone version already looked better than the PS4 version I think it's debatable to call the differences minor.
