DICE fait savoir à travers un communiqué de presse sur son site web qu'ils viennent de signer un très gros contrat avec Electronic Arts pour le développement d'un jeu au concept nouveau. Le jeu est prévu sur Xbox et PS2 pour le printemps 2005.
Le communiqué de presse : " Digital Illusions CE AB signs one of its most important agreements to date with the world’s biggest game publisher, Electronic Arts. The new game is based on a totally new concept that Digital Illusions designed and owns the intellectual rights to. The new contract is estimated to be worth about 50 million kronor, plus possible future royalty income. The new agreement covers the development of a totally new game concept, initially for two platforms; PS2 and Xbox. The development will take place at the company’s Göteborg office. The title, which is not yet official, is planned to be launched in the spring of 2005. - The agreement is additional evidence of Digital Illusions’ capability of designing and selling its own game concept that the big publishers will bet on. The contract is also entirely in line with our new business strategy, which is based on development of our own trademarks that Digital Illusions owns, says Patrick Söderlund, president of Digital Illusions. - The contract gives us a guaranteed production budget during the next two years and the product is expected to have very good prospects for generating extra income in the form of royalties to the company in 2005 and 2006, says Patrick Söderlund, president of Digital Illusions.
