GSY Video PC

We know how difficult it is for a part of our community to be interested in smaller projects when much of the attention is drawn to either AAA titles or console exclusives. We'd like to tell you The Magnificent Trufflepigs is going to change that but this narrative experience is so limited in terms of gameplay that it will most certainly be a hard sell. Yet, the game is developed by Everybody's Gone to the Rapture main designer, and it was really a title we enjoyed back when it was released, which is why we were intrigued to see what this new project had in store. You play the role of Adam (voiced by Doctor Who's Adam Darvill), who used to be close to Beth (Luci Fish), though we don't know exactly on what terms. Beth needs Adam to dig up some old earing as it is important to her, but it's supposedly buried somewhere in one of the family fields. Hence the need of a metal detector you will have to use to find tons of useless junk along the way. The game is described as a first-person, romantic, metal-detecting game, which is rather bold if you ask me. Its pace is slow, the English countryside is beautiful but exploration is not as free as it was in Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, where you had a whole village to discover. Check out our video inside to see if there is anything you like as it illustrates perfectly the overall experience you can expect.

Note:

I played the game for about 2 hours and unlocked 7 Steam achievements out of 15, which means you probably shouldn't expect it to be very long. It makes sense considering the way it is built: the day starts in the morning with some exploration in a field sometimes interrupted by a conversation between Adam and Beth, then they have lunch together and talk (while the camera keeps showing the car in which they eat and its surroundings) and finally you spend the afternoon exploring while keeping in touch with Beth (via text messages or actual calls). We don't know the chosen price tag for the game but hopefully it won't be too much as not everyone will be pleased to pay for such a minimalistic experience.

Thank you! These are the sort of games I look for in Steams treasure trove, those lower cost indies that have a great story.

As soon as I saw "From the lead designer of...." I bought it. You should setup referral links guys, I would be happy to buy things via yourself :)
