Xbox 360 PS3

Codemasters announced today that Operation Flashpoint 2 was planned for a 2008 release on next-gen systems and PC, and would be their biggest game to date in term of production. The game itself will used the Neon engine already being the base of Colin Mc Rae: Dirt. First screen inside.

Just to point out for those that don't know, Operation Flashpoint was developed by Bohemia Interactive and Published by Codemasters. Codemasters now owns the name 'Operation Flashpoint', and so this game is being developed by them. Bohemia Interactive went ahead and made a sequel anyway, but called it Armed Assault.

This game, aside from looking very different, will most likely be very different.

Considering a case of Dirt, this is nowhere close to actual game. But it will still look great.

But I don't care graphic for now; Hey it's Flashpoint for 360! OMG!!!!!
Those who miss Ghost Recon 1 must buy this game.
OFP was a great, revolutionary and realistic game. Codemasters should maintain first one's own feeling.

Now that is how to do a screenshot...

Looking forward to this and DIRT.

I know that codemasters really dropped the ball on Flashpoint for xbox. Hopefully they can redeem themselves, and get this game in our hands, before the NEXT Xbox (720) is announced.

I'm still hoping that MS - in a wave of generosity - makes the original OFP for Xbox backward compatible on 360. To me, OFP was and still is the best tactical/military shooter I have ever played. I used to like the first Ghost Recon games (and especially Island Thunder on Xbox), but Ubisoft has turned the license into a 'pseudo'-military FPS with overrated HUD and AI. Concerning OFP2, I hope Codemasters can live up to the original athmosphere of the first game (never felt this close to war actually). So, fingers crossed and hope to see some more goodies come in the near future.

OFP2 now proves that Frostbite(next-gen engine of Digital Illusion CE) has real competitor, Neon engine.

Codemasters uses Neon to racing and FPS.
DICE uses Frostbite to BFBC, and maybe some new racing game. They made RSC1,2 you know...

One thing that caught my eye...

Quote:

Shouldn't that be IS, not was, or is it going to be delayed to 2009?

I know what you say but I'm sure that it will also be a successor of Operation Flashpoint. Maybe it's going to be a bit more easy, but it seems like it won't be something like Ghost Recon.
