they will be destroyed in autumn by MAG , CoD and BFbc2. you just can't choose a worse date to delay. Operation flashpoint will share the same faith as UTIII , will be a great game overlooked by everyone. hoped to play this thru summer and wait for MAG, but now it all depends from exact release date of OF:dr to buy or not.

Totally agree. They need to delay it til early next year, even if it's done by autumn. Otherwise just like last year, all the good games will come out and this will get over looked. I still for the life of me don't understand why so many games companies don't release big titles over the summer, with the kids off from schools they'd buy anything half decent during this period.

wow some people really dont know this game, how the hell are you putting this against MAG, COD and BFBC? It's a realistic tactical shooter, kind of the opposite of all of those games, the only one that comes close is BFBC. OPF and ARMA are more BFBC+Rainbox6 than the others.

its 8 on 8 with 3 man AI teams from what i recall or was that arma... its a team work game, and if you want a really impressive video look at the ingame footage of the tank fireing thats frigging wicked.

Also I hate to point out this isn't really targetted at the halo/cod kids, in fact its pretty much the opposite target market, i doubt a very small sliver of those people will like this game. As was said in pretty much all previews of this and arma, it's not a "oh i got shot again" ... its a "holy sh*t i hope i dont get shot while im walking across this mountain terrain by a sniper 4 miles away"

Personally I'm a bit more psyched over ARMA but thats only because I want to fly a jet lol.

The only real game competing directly against arma in its target is pretty much ARMA which hasnt been announced for consoles for a certain date yet.

EDIT: oh and i forgot to say? MAG really? it's cod:mw1 with slightly cut back graphics, with more players from what i've seen so far, and even so it's only tentatively a 2009 release, and will cost a rumored 100$ a year.

I really enjoyed the first Operation flashpoint. I hope this turns out to be a really good tactical game, though the audio seems a bit off.

This game makes me wish rainbow six will come back. I'm tired of all these casual games.

Devs made shooters casual because they are aiming at a mass audience. OFP was sublime back in 2001 because it was popular + sim in one package. It's graphics were laughed at too at the time. It's still my favourite fps. Hope Bohemia Interactive brings ArmaII to the consoles. Too bad ther isn't a BC-update for OFP : Elite on Xbox.

Looks pretty dull and the graphics were terribly choppy, one for fans of tactical shooters maybe but I agree that this one is going to be crushed by the likes of MW2 and BFBC2 if it releases the same time, it certainly can't compete visually with either of those titles, hell this looks worse than COD4 in it's current state.

I think they should have probably kept this series on PC and concentrated development on making it as good as possible for that platform (much better suited to tactical shooters with loads of micro management options).

if the latest socom was such a mess, then i don't know what people expect.

again, how about you know what you're talking about before typing. the recent playstation blog interview with the devs has already confirmed that you pay for the game, and then it's free to play after that. this isnt some MMORPG, it's an FPs with 256 players.


@ hellyheamf - latest socom wasnt developed by the same people. it was outsourced...hence why it sucked.

never played this series before (as it was mainly PC only i hear) but if its anything like Battlefield Modern combat (looks like it from the screens) i will certainly buy it
