First 10 minutes PC PS4 Xbox One

Considering the new trend that HD remakes have become, it was no surprise when Deep Silver and Koch Media announced the summer release of Metro Redux on next gen consoles. What was more surprising however was that the two games were also planned on PC. Quite logically, it is essentially Metro 2033 which has the best chance to get the attention of those who have already played both episodes. Why? Because it has been rebuilt with the latest version of 4A Games' engine and it is now fully optimized. The new effects are mostly visible in the outdoor areas as you'll see in our videos but even in the tunnels the game is as atmospheric as ever. As for Last Light Redux, it includes all the DLC which have been released and also features some of the things the fans said were missing compared to 2033 (among which the possibility to check Artyom's watch). We should have PS4 videos by the end of the week but until then, check out our 5.1 PC videos and let us know if you want us to keep capturing surround footage.

So they removed volumetric lights from first game..
Also playing fps on pc with gamepad? =)

Playing single player FPS on PC on the couch on big ass TV with gamepad yes. :)

Are the games well optimized this time? The original 2033 was a disaster, it still runs like crap.

Yeah i use the Pad on my PC for most games, only online stuff as it is a no win situation.
What PC spec is this running on?

2033: i5 4670K @ 4.0 GHz, 8 Go RAM, Windows 7 64, Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 MSI OC.

Last Light: Intel i7 2700K @ 4.7 GHz, 16 Go DDR3 1600 MHz, 2x NVidia GTX 680 SLI.

Is it worth getting the Redux versions if I already have the originals on PC? Does Last Light look significantly better (I'm guessing 2033 does)?

Like I said in the article, 2033 looks slightly better and runs a lot better. As for Last Light, as I implied, other than the presence of the DLC and the few minor additions to gameplay, it's the very same game.

I might get 2033 Redux, even though I own both games already. I've got the complete edition of Last Light, and with the way you put it, don't think it's worth getting.

What a sad gen this is turning out to be, the generation of remakes. I loved this game, most atmospheric game since HL2, but wow, I can barely tell where the graphics updates are. Rebuilt with X engine or not, this is a lame cash in.

I guess the industry has noticed the ROI on these things is massive. On the other hand, I guess it's good if you haven't played the series yet, or you played on consoles :|
