MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED will have taken ITS time before reaching our western shores, since Level-5's game was originally released in Japan in 2021, after being announced five years earlier. It then became a Freemium game in the archipelago for some time before making its return in April 2024, in a paid version including all the content added until then. That's when we were finally able to discover this hack and slash robot game with a strong emphasis on story, along the same lines as what we can find in visual novels. The result is clearly worthy of your time, provided you are a fan of this very particular genre and do not fear the inevitable redundancy of the gameplay. The story is catchy, the visuals are quite nice, and the collabs with well-known franchises such as Mazinger Z, Grendizer (which was just added this week for free), Getter Robo, Chōdenji Robi Combattler V and Voltes V make it even more appealing. If you're curious to discover the first hour of the adventure (with a few cuts, however), check out our long gameplay video. Note that the game benefits from the Steam sales that started yesterday and can therefore be acquired for €24.99 instead of €49.99. The Switch version is also entitled to the same price drop, but if you play on PlayStation consoles, you will have to pay full price (for the moment at least).
