GSY Preview PC

More pixels on Gamersyde with the upcoming Mother Russia Bleeds, to be released on PC on September 5. We are allowed to share some footage of the early levels as a preview coverage, so here are a bunch of videos played solo. We'll add some local multiplayer gameplay later this week or during the weekend.

I just like it. Considering getting this. I always was a fan of Renegade.

Uhh?? this game is not made by the same people or dev who made "Renegade" however this is more like a throwback retro homage to side scrolling beat em ups and the style is much too bloody for games of back then hence it falls into more of a mortal kombat mix.

This game's style shares NOTHING with Renegade or Double Dragon or many of the Arcade classic side scrolling beat em ups or even the 8 bit and 16 bit versions...other than claiming to be a throw back, the color palette and art style is very different and is more like a game that would have been for one 16 bit console...

It seems weird because the Sega Genesis and SNES have higher color palettes displayed...while this game just displays a lot more of what seems like heavily pixelated blocky pixel sprite npc and enemy on screen that probably was not displayed on older systems...just from looking at the videos it does not seem that interesting even as a retro because it seems to take and throw too much different cliches...perhaps this is one of those 40 hour side scrolling beat em ups...

He never said it was. He only said that, as a Renegade fan, he likes what he sees. He's not talking about art style at all.

Im not even going to reply this. Obviously You got my comment wrong. No hard feelings. But still....same view, same moves, same gameplay....well seems similar to Renegade to me anyway.

For the time being, yes. The developers are considering adding online multiplayer in the future.

Less savage blood and violence...does not even seem similar...I played the arcade and have the NES game...even Streets of Rage and Final Fight which are kind of similar in the same genre are not anywhere near this Mother Russia Bleeds...this is it's own thing...enjoy it but it sure isn't comparable to the classics.

toelessfoot Right. I think programmable shaders were adopted fairly early on consoles (xbox360/ps3) (4 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (4 Days ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (4 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (5 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (5 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (5 Days ago)
