Elite Dangerous has been available for a few days on Xbox One. If you want to see it in action, you can watch these 2 videos in Gamersyde quality.
Sdarts I loved this game, you can play with different characters, each with their own abilities. You had a dash, that was basically like flying - Really cool mechanic. Squaresoft at its best. (1 Day ago)
Sdarts But got to a place where I couldn't progress further, because I didn't understand Japanese - before 2000, I wanna say. Really liked it and still remember it randomly sometimes. (1 Day ago)
Sdarts And then later their American versions. There was this Japanese game only released in Japan, I think it was from Squaresoft, the game was quite cool and I went very far in it. (1 Day ago)
Sdarts @nostradamus: Yes, PSX, N64 & Sega Saturn as well. Those days, I played a lot of imported games. I believe I played Final Fantasy 8 around 6 months before the US release. Tenchu 1 & 2 in Japanese. (1 Day ago)
nostradamus Myiamoto with Ocarina and Mario64, the hadware finally came through. (2 Days ago)

From quick testing on the PC version, using a gamepad controls ok, but a good HOTAS setup gives you the extra fine and smooth control that can help when putting that crosshair on the enemy.
Looking forward to getting a VR-set and also the forthcoming planetary landing and exploration.
RAWR!!! ;)
It's a very difficult game to start without someone helping as the tutorials only teach the gameplay mechanics. When you start the game, you're completely lost and alone in space. I don't know if it's intentional but I doubt it.
When you start picking up the ways to make money in the galaxy, you'll be better but there's still a lot to learn. If you are interested, there is a great community of gamers helping each other out. It's a subreddit called /EliteOne. I recommend it for everyone starting in this game.
There isn't a final objective to the game, you just earn money(in many different ways) however you want to get yourself another ship that is able to make you more money. For me it's not an addictive game, but it's a great experience to come back to. Sometimes I go exploring the millions of systems available in the game, sometimes I head over to some system with factions at war to make some profit as a mercenary destroying ships, sometimes I do smuggling missions.
RAWR!!! ;)
P.S your comment was equally meaningless in the context of the thread...actually more so ;)

one is an accessible exploration game. the other is a comparatively hardcore space flight sim. one has a unique art style. the other does not.
...saying that, i'm still on the fence about no mans sky. if the elements that make up the game aren't compelling i couldn't care less about that either...although if it had morpheus support it would certainly help
