BigBen has released thie first screenshots of Outcast - Second Contact, the remake of the cult video game that originally saw the light in 1999. The title is set to release in March 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
kind of fitting that one of the first games to use voxels is being shown off in the shadow of no mans sky, a game that also uses them heavily to generate their terrain. although looks like they've settled on actual meshes this time around?
i never played the original, always read it was quite ahead of its time. all i remember seeing was a really lame looking main character running around like he's just shat himself. lol.
Anyone else thinking that a remake in which the player character has gone from being black to white might spark some controversy, especially since they both have the same name.
The original was my first pc game.
I'll pick that up since i couldn't finish it and i love the mood.
I hope they keep the original music and sound spirit.
The original game was the best game of that time for me. Stunning piece of software for its time. This really surprised me!!! Please, be good.
Even if what you said was the case here, i honestly think that people who get offended by such tiny petty things so easily should consider buying a rope an hang themselves. This is getting out of hand, it's ridiculous. Anyway, this was released same year as Shenmue (I played Shenmue first). I didn't play Outcast until a friend of mine recommended it to me after my Shenmue playthrough so I went to a video store to rent it. What can I say... I fired it up and went on to uninstall it right after 20mins of playtime. This game had some of the stiffest animations and cutscenes I had ever seen to that date. A aesthetic distaster, just wow... Glad they're making a remake, cause this is actually looking fine to me. Hope I'll be able to enjoy the game this time around, cause if what everyone's telling is true I missed out on a great game.
