Maybe its just me, but the jets look better in BF2, not to be harsh or anything but not mind blowing
For captures that have been washed out, scaled-down, printed on paper, and scanned back into jpegs.... I think those jets look pretty darn good. You do that same process with battlefield 2 and it might look like an atari game.....
Ok maybe atari would be a bit over-the-top, but you get what I'm saying. After seeing fight night on my friend's HDTV vs. screen caps and video, I don't trust anything except an actual finished game or demo playing in front of my eyes.
Anyone have played Air Force Delta Storm for the Xbox? That game has, at the very least equally detailed airplanes...........as for the rest, this thing has a higher draw distance, but that's all I've seen so far. It's just another quick cash in.
if you've seen the videos and high res shots, you'll see that the graphics aren't ugly! what is it that's ugly? the terrain, cockpit view, and plane models\textures look good imo. it looks like it'll be a solid game, also it's taking too long for release to be just a quick "cash in".

Nah, Airforce Delta Storm didn't have a lighting system like this, especially the very nice self-shadowing.

WHAT? Didn't have the self shadowing? Please, play the game, give it a rent at least, then we'll talk. It did have and sometimes I think the airplanes look better on AFD......REALLY.

The terrain is ugly and the cities.....kind of like AFD...hmn......but that was last gen.
The cockpit view is nothing special at all. It's just ok.\
The textures on the planes look bad, the shadowing is nothing to be extremely happy about, and the overall airplane detail has nothing over AFD. Sadly.

I remember reading somewhere there is an option to have it simulation or arcade handling. It was a hands-on preview, and the author was saying how difficult simulation mode was.

Not really, Taito made two Energy Airforce games for PS2 and they were good for a console flight-sims especially 2nd one, actually now that I think about it they are the only proper console flight-sims (unlike more arcade stuff like AC/ADF) so far. This X360 game should have both sim and new arcade mode.
