As announced yesterday, it really looks like Bizarre will release one new Project Gotham Racing 4 image (from the photo mode) every day until the game is released. And if they all look as good as this one, I'm certainly not going to complain!
It looks really beautiful, but before anyone starts making those GT5 comparisons again, remember that this game has half the resolution, framerate, and cars on track.

GT5 does have more cars and runs at 60fps but i dont think it runs at half the resolution.Both games do run in HD.The game is looking great by the way.

Polyphony Digital says that GT5 is running at native 1080p while PGR4 runs at 720p, but PD also said that they'll release GT for PSP...

720p isn't half the resolution of 1080p. And i think PGR 4 has a big bit of more GFX-complex enviroment then GT5.

Just your (to high) expectations I think, because at the time it was by far the best looking racinggame on any platform.. PGR3 was the reason I bought an Xbox 360, and it wasn't below par of anything imho.. And it still looks pretty good for a now 2 year old Xbox 360 launchgame..

1080p is a complete waist of resources since by far most people do not play their games in 1080p.. 1080p requires over 2 times the renderingpower of 720p, and all that power is better used for nicer details and/or effects etc imho, especially when a big majority of gamers plays the game at 720p or lower anyway..
I'll get it. I love PGR3. But I think GT5 might look more photo realistic. But as an online racer, PGR has the better controls and gameplay, than the GT series, if you ask me.

That's for sure.. It's also more fun then Forza online imho.. PGR is just the perfect mix between sim and arcade imho that most people can enjoy and have fun with.. In racinggames like GT and Forza it's not a lot of fun when some are much better at racing then others, at least in PGR you can have fun with your somewhat lesser skilled friends aswell..

GT5 has no HDR, no AA and less reflection on the car. Incar mirrors have amiga quality reflections. No %100 Dynamic lightning. Less quality environment.

No below par on resolution, To the point that I thought there was something wrong with my T.V. and maybe more to the point the mismanagement of the situation by Bizarre, claiming that there was nothing with the game, Until it turned out the game was being upscaled. Then it turns out there 'in game engine' was really photo mode. Miss-selling the product as far as I'm concerned. Shame cos I loved the first 2 games especially PGR2.

720p = 921,600 pixels
1080p = 2,073,600 pixels
I know it's hard to believe those GT5 specs, but Polyphony Digital is really tapping into that CELL potential Sony kept hyping.

I agree there. I wish all games supported 720p, and 720p only. It looks nice enough, doesn't tax the system as much as 1080p, and it would make people's HDTV buying decisions a lot easier.

the environment comparison are getting annoying GT:prologue isnt the finished game!! we have no idea how detailed the environments will be..although the buildings in GT that have been shown look better than those in pgr4
1080p is pointless, sony said 1080p just too get the edge on the 360. So MS replied and added 1080p. But making games in 1080p is pointless, it uses too much resources and makes a game look worse and run horribly. Its a marketing gimmick using numbers and does not increase graphics or gameplay.
I would rather have smooth 720 30fps looking amazing, than half assed 1080p running at 30 or 60fps that has skimped on extras.
Seriosly 1080p is a generation later than 360 and PS3. If you try and do it now you will only hinder your creative ability.

yeah, I wish Halo2, had been 720p instead of 1080p... I hate that MS is having to keep up with PS3 in that regard.
