Avatar, the official game adapted from James Cameron's highly-anticipated movie, is getting a new gameplay video introducing us with the Navi side of the game. Probably a good opportunity to show that the game is not only a Lost Planet-like.
Looks like a Panzer Dragoon rip off and the name Navi is from Zelda OOT. I don't want to sound like a hater but this is of what i thought when i saw the title and the footage.

A panzer dragoon rip off? Really? I must have missed the 3rd person free roaming parts then ;) The dragon flying parts in this are not an on rails shooter like panzer dragoon, it's free roaming and you can get off at any time.

Well the art work and atmosphere of flying parts really remind me of Panzer Dragoon, especially Orta and if you didn't know Panzer Dragoon Saga was free roaming in both, foot and flying.
"Avatar", "Pandora" and "Navi" ... is Mr Cameron intending to pick names which people associate with something entirely different? Avatar is that odd anime from Nickelodeon (I guess), Pandora's Box is that thing that made Kratos super-huge so he could stab Ares, and Navi is that annoying little fairy from Zelda OoT.
Well, enough about James Cameron's weird ways to name things, I promise I'll give the movie a chance nonetheless; to me, this game looks just like 99,8% of all other movie-licensed games, mediocre. I don't see why they try to catch our attention.

Its just Cameron's way of shoving metaphors down your throat. Instead of naming the planet Where Bad Shit Happens If You Go There, he choose the more obvious name Pandora.
About the game though, I watched some hilarious interview footage where one guy talked about choosing which side you wanted to play as. You could either pick a human and destroy the entire planet for no reason, or you could play as the navi and push back the imperialistic oppressors into the sea.
Yeah, I think I'll play as humans if I had the choice, lol

All things that James Cameron has probably never even heard of, and probably doesn't care much about hearing of.
That said both the movie and the game of this look sucky, and as a big fan of James Cameron I'm sort of dissapointed. That said, I will see the movie regardless, but the game, as usual with movie games, I'll pass on.
