GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Before we hit the road for the summer vacation, we've decided to take the PC version of Project CARS for a spin on the Scottish track which was added as DLC several months ago. It's nothing special really, but at least you get to see the game running on ultra settings with Nvidia's DSR (1440p).

Sorry but this track is amazing and is easily the best non racetrack in the game. The track has perfect flow to it its what DC tracks should of been like.

I only play Pcars on PS4 and this vid has made me want to get a gaming pc. That IQ is incredible.

Way ahead of you with 4k native and ultra settings. /boasting rights
The game does look amazing technically, but looking at Driveclub the weather effects in ProCars are a bit underwhelming. Especially Driveclub's dynamic raindrops on windshield, hhhhnnnngg. Yup, I'm a graphics whore and not much into racing genre itself.

4k isn't completely smooth in the rain with a single 1080 and our i7 and we're all about smoothness here. ;)

Weird - i7 6700k and a single overclocked GTX980TI here and I think I didn't see dips below 60fps. I may be wrong and there are occasional dips to 55, especially in rain (although I remember testing it in stormy weather). Oh, I must say I have AA off because who needs AA at this resolution? Maybe that's why it's not smooth on 1080?

it's no driveclub, but it looks nice. sense of speed is lacking though, but that could be the car.

Are you kidding? It looks way better than DC and it's 60+ frames per second with an incredible physics engine running behind it.

Only time DC looks good is in overcast conditions or rain, Play India during the day sunny and it looks terrible graphically. You cannot once say PCars looks terrible. Also the LOD on on the cars that are infront in DC is very poor and they just become a blur if they are 100m away.

toelessfoot Right. I think programmable shaders were adopted fairly early on consoles (xbox360/ps3) (2 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (2 Days ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (3 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (3 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (3 Days ago)

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (3 Days ago)
