One of the few games to survive the transition from Vivendi Games to Activision is Prototype, and to prove that it's still alive I don't see anything better than these images and trailer.
looking good, not the best graphics but its a sandbox game, so graphics is not so important but they didnt show anything new, i cant imagine how the gameplay will work because this looks boring just from trailer :)
Of all the great sandbox games that have come out, this one looks most promising to me, well this and Infamous. Crackdown was good too, but the formula was only changed so much, and it was all gameplay and no substance. GTA IV was.. well it was GTA IV, and the series is getting a bit stale for those who have been playing since the start. Sure, it offered a good stroy, and was still an amazing game, but a really good, original sandbox game should hook you in for a good long time. And then there's Saints Row, which apparantly was pretty good, but again just took Rockstars stuff and changed it into something utterly rediculous, and although I personally didn't find it to eve nbe clever in the way it was rediculous, the biggest issue for me was just that it was yet another gang filled sandbox game. But this game looks to make things much much different, and that makes me pretty expectant of the game, just like Infamous. Its nice that in this recent surge (if you can call it that, its only really GTA, SR/SR2, Mercs 2, Crackdown) there are a few original games to come. And the the visuals certainly look better then they did, even if they aren't great. And I really lik ethe way your guy looks, all the tentacle like stuf looks pretty good too, and the blood effects are nice. Can't wait to see if this game lives up to the potential.
really?! i was thinking the opposite, what a downgrade! look at pic 4 and 6, terrible textures!! still, mildly excited about this one, given that i loved crackdown but was a bit put down by the lack of "real" story. Maybe this will have.
Visuals are looking fairly poor. Very low poly characters and low quality textures. Gameplay still looks like fun, but I get the feeling you'll be pretty much invincible and the unlimited destruction will get boring fast. The story seems like it could be good though.
I know I will likely get a lot of hate at this, but inFamous look more interesting to me. With open world games like this I think there needs to be a balance of what you can and cannot do to be fun. This looks like non-stop destruction with no consequence or boundaries, fun for 1-2hrs then repetitive.
Thats just what I am seeing now, cannot wait to try out a demo for it and inFamous.
Getting a bit hyped for it.
Really like the "special character" in modern world, but don't like the comic universe, so this might be good, and its bloody.
if theres enough "meat" on its bones it could be good, it already looks better then it did, but i cant help getting spider-man 3 vibes from it. with enough variation and depth, and a decent narrative, it should be at least worth playing. but the removal of co-op was what killed any chance of me buying this game.
Prototype looks far more promising — and frenetic — than I had personally anticipated. While it may not have blown me away graphically, the sheer amount of stuff packed on-screen impresses. It's slated for a Summer release and we look forward to going hands-on with the game as soon as possible.
Prototype is looking better and better. Just got down watching the CES trailer. Alex Mercer's super wallrunning and rooftop hopping look INCREDIBLE!! I watched the inFAMOUS CES trailer right before this one and does also look incredible but Prototype will be better.

Seriously. It looks smooth as fuck. Sort of like a combination of Mercs 2, Spiderman and Crackdown, WITH GORE.
Somebody stop the internet, I'm officially excited. I know it'll probably be average, but so was Crackdown, and I still enjoyed it for a bit.
