Vivendi are like all the other companies planning for the GDC, and Prototype is one of the first games out. They've finished the second developer diary, plus some captured images from the game. A 720p version of the diary has also been added to the news.

I hate these video diaries possibly more then anything ever, so bloody corny, its like someone selling you a chain and trying to tell you it has all the great features and its a one of a kind and how hard they worked to make it one of a kind.

Annoying music + Annoying people + Annoying camera angles + 95% concept art = a really crappy Dev Diary.

The main character looks to have changed too, not saying thats a bad thing or not but after these two dev diaries I've pretty much lost interest in the thing, plus the fact that they constantly talk about the game, but haven't really said what the hell the story is suppose to be.

I just think this is going to be a really crappy game, if you asked my why i wouldn't be able to tell you, instinct i guess.

Can't wait to see it closer to release, it's too early in development anyway.
But from the gameplay I have seen in alpha, it looks pretty cool.

I think this will end up being a better version of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, with different characters.

I'm not convinced yet, but it's still pre-alpha and i'm sure they'll make the city look more interesting.

I think devs shouldn´t release screenshots when they look like this as it can kill all the momentum. It´s obvious that this must be very pre-alpha. Everything is blocky, low-res textures etc. I honestly don´t think that the finished game will look anything like that.

Other than that, the game has potential but they need to work on the environments/population/credibility. The city just doesn't feel all that alive, especially when comparing it to GTAIV, from what I've seen so far.

Gameplay has plenty of promise though...here's for hoping.

You guys need to watch more dev diaries... You obviously don't understand the concept =)

Not terrible looking for Alpha I guess... Looks fun though =)

Oh no, I don't mind a good dev diary. I just don't like to watch a bunch of arrogant people patting themselves on the back and talking like they're the next thing coming in gaming development.

There's a difference in promoting your product with confidence, and showing off your product with blatant, misplaced arrogance. ;)

i saw this dev diary last night before these screenshots were posted. to me it sounded like the game was going to look amazing and put much more detail in new york then games like GTA IV are doing. now that i see these screenshots...what the hell were these guys talking about?

Actually the concept art looked pretty bad ass but man the actual footage of the game looks really bad. The level of detail just isn't there and when you compare it to something like GTA4 which isn't even a super-duper good looking game either, it just makes you want to cry. I had a lot of hope for this one when it was first shown but man, thats just sad.
