Who said platforming was dead?
It's not dead, thanks to awesome games like 'Splosion Man. :)
And i agree with previous poster, Jak series -> Ratchet & Clank.
Sadly we have no Jak game this gen so far. :(

this bland series needs to die already. Jak 3 was such a superior game to all Ratchet's combined.
no it wasnt. jak was a wannabe rachet. the only time jak was superior is when it was it's own game, and not trying to jump in on ratchets turf...precursors legacy was top notch, possibly my fave platformer EVER, beyond that it just felt like naughty dog where tryting to copy their competiton. sure they did it well, but still, the original product owns the blatant rip off every time as far as i'm concerned.
This is another exclusive all the fanboys get hyped about but I can't really get into that much. I played the first RnC game for PS3 and while it was a decent game with some really funny moments, I can't imagine liking it enough to play more than once. The weapons are fun, if not "cute", but the overall gameplay gets very repetitive and the enemies aren't always that fun either.
I think the overall pixar vibe of the game also hurts the shooting aspect for me. If it had more solid platforming parts and didn't rely so much on the weapons it would be better. I also thought the textures in the first game could have been a lot better.
I'll rent this for sure, but all the "day one" comments leave me a bit perplexed.

Ratchet & Clank games (PS2, PS3) have always been about solid gameplay, excellent characters and stunning, varying locations. It is no wonder people wait for the new outings to arrive on store shelves. Liking a certain game might seem a bit strange to you, but R&C always delivers.
For me, the first R&C is still in my top 10 games of all times. I loved that game. The series manages to press all the right gaming buttons in my brain. I buy day one, you rent. No biggie. ;)
P.S. And for the record, the first Monkey Island is number one on my chart. =)

So, everyone who likes this game is a fanboy ... let me guess, you are Mr. objective and you know everything, right? The ony fanboy here is you who can't admit that this game is awesome. Another day another troll.
Just finished Ratchet and clank: Tool of destruction and while it was good it just wasn't THAT good. If you really crave some platforming mixed with a sprinkle of sub-par shooting then sure. Personally i don't think this is a day one purchase but i can understand why it has it's fanbase.

While I admit, the word fanboy gets thrown around too much and I could have worded that better, the only thing worse is how often people abuse the word troll. Its the same idea in reverse only used far more often. So I hope you catch the irony in your commnet.
I didn't mean everyone who likes the game is a fanboy. I meant all the Sony fanboys act like this game is a God, even if they don't play it. Probably b/c it is an exclusive so they feel the need to hype it no matter what.
Like I said, it's a good game. I never bashed it, just pointed out why I'm confused as to the level of hype it gets.
I find it sad so many gamers think that if they like a game, everyone else has a problem for not liking it just as much.
Sorry if the fanboy comment seemed directed at fans of the game, instead of the Sony fans who overhype the game. That wasn't my intention.
