Holy crap I thought that pic was from a new Ghost Recon but then I thought, wait they are making a Ghost Recon that looks even worse than the last one (which wasn't that great looking either when compared to BF3).
Turns out its RE6 lol. No Hope Left for this franchise.

Some hyperbole as usual regarding the visuals. They look as well as they could on the consoles and it looks fairly good in motion. So it's got a few blurry textures. Big fucking deal. There are limitations you know. Now, that's as far as I'll go defending this game. The picture of that blue wheel UI menu thing: could that be as far removed from RE if it tried? No. Seriously, the game is unrecognisable now. If you took those zombies out, what does this game have left that resembles what we knew of Resident Evil? Nothing. That's what. Fuck you Capcom. Fuck you big style!

I'll never understand the hate and the vicious attacks on the graphics. Are you really gonna put a huge emphasis on the textures of a wheel that you'll only see for like 3 seconds? Seriously, the game is gonna have a lot of content. Some stuff has to be sacrificed. And this game looks far from "garbage" or "shit". Look at crap like Condemned. Now what? Huh? And RE is more than just zombies. Cuz yeah I'm sure Umbrella was always like "we gotta create zombies, yo!" No! They were trying to make B.O.W.s. Always. The zombies in the first game were an accident. They've usually always been an accident. Stuff like the Las Plagas, Ganados, Majini, J'avo, those aren't mistakes. They were intentionally created to be used. Stop being upset about the loss of things like fixed camera angles. Because if a game has to rely on fixed camera angles to scare you, then they aren't doing enough. If you say melee attacks and such are stupid, then I guess you feel if you ran out of ammo in real life you wouldn't even try to melee something because your only option is a combat knife swipe that does nothing. Just done with this crap. Have fun with your double standards and all that.

I'll take the shittiest looking RE6 if it was even mildly fun to play. After my experience with the demo I can say this is the first main RE game I won't even be renting

Problem is, its not just the graphics. Its the animations, its the loss of immersion, its the gameplay. There is more serious problems then the graphics, at least the previous titles(RE4 and Before) had horror elements, but this... this is just Call of duty. Instead of trying to reinvent the genre like they have before, they've given up on creativity and are aiming for the wider(more money) audience. You can try to justify this as much as you want, but it looks horrible... and feels horrible... and PLAYS horrible. You're free to your opinions, but as a long time resident evil fan, this is the "safe" way to make a game, and its not cutting it for me.

PS: here are games that are building upon the survival horror genre: Amnesia and Slender. Amnesia takes the elements of previous resident evil games(Creepy mansion, narrow halls, tension of opening doors) and it makes it even better! Slender, its a simple game where you collect notes of paper. No guns, no weapons, and its more immersive then this action video game.
