Sick and tired of looking to logos of games with pc, wii, x360 all aligned, and that stupid and humongous "playstation 3" spideman logo in extense.
Abbreviate that shit up!

Great game, btw!

Can't wait for the end of the month, so excited! I've been preparing myself by watching the Riddick trilogy of movies. Dark Fury was awesome.

Got it.

I don't think Butcher Bay actually holds up that well, but it's still a very good game. Dark Athena actually seems just as good to me so far.

I think they did change the AI somewhat. I know for sure some of the enemies don't get stunned quite as easily as in the old Xbox and PC versions.

If you're looking forward to this one, you'll at least like this remake / new title. There's nothing really wrong with the game.

The reviews aren't that good. Still getting this day 1. Loved the first!
dude... whait, what?

It's Butcher's bay. One of the Best FPS of last generation. People don't need reviews... even how much flawed, short, or dissapointing Dark Athena can be ( I can't see how ), it's still a stellar package.
Triple AAA Double HD Dip Offer!

times have changed since then and now. the game doesnt hold up as well as it once did, both visually, design wise, gameplay wise. i think the reviews for the game are just as relevent as any other game.

Times haven't changed THAT much. EFBB still holds up even now as an experience and was well ahead of many games on its release - even the most negative review still regards its innovative status. It does a lot many games still can't seem to do... offer a well rounded package, with excellent storytelling and atmosphere.

The reviews have been above average to good. Not everything has to rate 90% and above!

Still cant believe GT gave it a 8.3 for presentation and Ninja Blade a 4.8... WTH ?

Not very objective imo, but anyways: We all know which one's the better brand.

Riddick games are still much further than most other games, it's a stealth action FPS hybrid much like Beyond Good or Evil or other games that can't be pinned down.

It's all about brands and sequels in game reviews, why do you think CoD 4 was rated highly even with its outdated game design flaws? Or RE 5? Or Gears of War 2? Those games are as outdated as many other mediocre games, but they get reviewed well because of brand loyalty, nostalgia, or having a good multiplayer to make up for lacking single-player.

Have you seen Killzone 2?
Without the blur and post-processing effects, it even is a more mediocre game to the first, who was as average, but at least had more variety and stuff like type of units.

Just generic shooter meets excellent tech. ( or at least shinny, because I dont see the appeal or all stuff being blurry and all that, just to say how awesome is the effects and all. When I'm gonna start to play the game, at least let me hav a option to play with a crystal clear image. )

8.3 is way too high imo... This looks so dated. I mean, all that Starbreeze did is add a few glow FX here and there + Depth of Field. That's it. It's not even a proper Remake if i compare this to my PC version. It's still worth the money because of Dark Athena so i'm getting it either way, but that sort of objectivity (or should i say fanboyism) over at gametrailers is seriously bugging me...

I'm disappointed with the art direction this time around. I was watching the Xbox vs Xbox360 comparisson vid at Gametrailers and boy, have they messed it up badly!

The lighting, shadowing and colour palette is completely off imo. I didn't realise how bad the game actually looks, especially taking into account how good the xbox version looked back then, and in many aspects still looks better than the 360 version. Sure, the 360 version is more advanced in terms of tech...but that comparisson vid perfectly illustrates that art > tech (all within reason obviously).

As for the game itself, Butcher Bay is still one of the best games ever made imo, but having exactly the same game this day and age, doesn't impress me as much anymore. It's still probably one of the better games around, and the mix of action, adventure, stealth, melee combat is still great...but it's like Ninja Gaiden 2: To be as impressive as the 1st part, it would have to offer so much more than it does now. ..

Err no. They added a lot more visual stuff than that. MANY more lights, new textures, DoF and motion blur. New material shaders.

You're fucking dumb if you think your old PC version is better. They only added textures to that version.

Killzone 2 mediocre? FUCK NO. It's a very tight game. Might not have much new style or innovation but it's the best playing FPS this generation.

Nop.

Even Crysis is a better SP fps overall. Might not have a as well made MPlayer, but as a singleplayer experience, its better one.

God, you are such an idiot for trying to turn this Riddick launch trailer thread into a flamewar about the flaws of Killzone 2.

I've seen your post history. Stop being a fanboy and taking every single opportunity to bash anything PS3-related.
