Namco released a very low-res trailer of Ridge Racer 6, and with a week left until release this is the first US trailer of the game. While waiting for a bigger version, here it is, in its full 320*166-resolution glory.
"We" doesn't really apply to the rabid fanbase of Ridge Racer though, clearly. They'll take this instead of PGR3 every day of the week, even when they have a hangover and aren't really up for it, they'll be troopers and roll over on their backs. I lost my thread, what was I talking about?
RR is pretty popular there, and for mindshare having a RR title released with a console is typically a "Sony Playstation" thing. In many ways this is MS making a move for more exposure in Japan and to make a statement... plus the hoard of RR fans who will buy this.

They declared suicide by launching along Gotham. And then when we are done with PGR3, there will be TDU...........oh poor Ridge Racer.
Well i as far as i know its good that they will launch next to pg3 cuz I can imagine that USA and Europe Adore pg3. But for the japanese people with their strange taste of games RR will be the racing game to buy. Especiall since they mostly of the time only like produts from their own Japan.
But RR on the PSP is has been simplified? The boost is rubbish and skill required minimal compared to earlier titles in the series. Looks ok but there is some atmosphere missing from these shots and including that night time Rave Racer course feels like Namco are lacking creatively.
Not a classic RR game in any sense of the word, so I’m in no rush.

If you're launching with the most popular Xbox racing franchise, then the choice people will make is an obvious one.
Not even true....! PPL are pushing along to try out NFSMW as well, just because of the love for the previous Underground series. There are ppl who like racing games period..like me I am getting all three racers at launch. I plan to play PGR3 because of the Gotham TV and ONline push, I will be playing RR6 simply because I am a fan of the series since PS1 and I am getting the NFSMW simply because it appeals to me in regards to the underground scene and flashback of Hot Prusuit. So, gamers have a choice....and its good to see which one "appeals" to the audience...! Get goo-goo gaa-gaa (is that a word???) over PGR3 graphics sound and etc....(i mean yes, it is an awesome game..who seen the commericials..?? actual gameplay ppl) or go for some off the wall, but still solid gameplay from the RR6 series....! Or just imagine racing away from the cops and fulfill your fantasy in NFSMW....cause ya sure as hell won't do it in real life. Im getting all three......cheers.....!!!!

I think the mainstream public will chose NFS: Most Wanted over this.
Unfortunately, it's very true. RR6 will be more popular in Japan, especially when it's THE mainstream racer in Japan and PGR3 won't arrive there until Jan 06. However it's not suicide to be release alongside PGR3, it still have its fanbase. On the other hand, NFS:MW will catch the eye of many 360 owners. I won't be surprise if NFS even surpasses PGR3 in sales, which is very very sad.

I was looking forward to trying it out, even tho it's just the PSP version with more tracks and better graphics.
im getting PGR at launch and RR when ever it comes out, i hope they got some maps in there from the original game.
RR is pure arcade whereas most of the others are semi realistic.
