Rise of the Tomb Raider is probably the most contrived exclusive title to come on Xbox One and 360, the reason being that many PS4/PC players didn't expect the sequel to the reboot to be released on Microsoft's console only. Here are a few beautiful screenshots showing how dangerous the new environments are going to be.

I see they've taken her face back closer to the original design. Good move. It's still different and not as good as the original in my opinion. She looks best in the PC version, and I won't be playing this one until it is also on PC.

Im assuming they will use E3 to showcase a trailer... but for now these screens are enough for me. Im loving Laras look and the environments do look nice! Looking forward to seeing more as the hype train starts rolling :)

It WILL arrive on PS4 and i will be bussy playing U4 when this comes out. . I have never made a fanboy remark, but this whole story about Tombraider is rubbish! MS has put a lot of $ in this timed exclusivity! But in the end PS4 owners are getting them both!

The graphics are fine. They are jus fine. But I sense the gameplay is a mind blowing one. A challenging climate that actually requires you to think about your next move. That's what I always wanted from this series. I hope they manage to nail it.

It could end up like DR3 and Ryse, so that it only comes out on PC too. MS is funding this, i believe even helping with the development. Making me kind of doubt MS will do all that just for a game that ends up on PS4 soon after. Time will tell, but people assume too quickly that it will come to PS4. Things can change, especially if it sells well.

even if it sells well, it won't sell as well if it was on the PS3/4 too. i guess it depends if MS paid the devs enough to make up for the lost PS3/4 sales. which is a LOT of money which makes me doubt they would. but who knows. and more importantly, who cares? if people want to play this they'll buy whatever console they need to play it.

Looks decent for a 360 game but I wonder what version this is because neither version will be at the resolution of those screenshots.

Exactly.

Personally, I will buy an Xbox One for Tomb Raider (if the game turns out to be a *TOMB* Raider) and a PS4 for Uncharted 4. These 2 are my most anticipated titles.

Having said the above though, given what Sony did with their lifetime exclusive SF5 announcement, I wouldnt rule out MS doing the same with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

while a similar situation. SF is quite niche in comparison to tomb raider. capcom will miss out on a small amount of sales not being on Xbone. square enix however will be losing a lot of sales not being on sony platforms. the money being thrown around is significantly different i'd say. MS could set up an entirely new studio for the amount of money they'd need to spend for one tomb raider titles full exclusivity.

Yes, our deal with Microsoft has a duration. We aren’t discussing details of the deal, and are focused on delivering a great game on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Yes, they could set up a new studio but you can't guarantee success and certainly don't have the IP recognition you would get by investing in a very popular franchise. It's literally free marketing which costs HUGE amount of money these days. I think the deal with the square enix is probably for 12 months.

the setting and tone look very promising. I really enjoyed the first TR game so I'm pretty excited to see more about this game. I really like the direction this series is going in so far. They just need more old school challenging puzzles and such but the exploration and combat have already been established to be pretty fun.

You know what, this comment makes the most sense to me. I agree. The first game wasn't a TR game. Piss poor design all round the board, apart from visuals. But hey - at least her hair looked groovy, right? I am not looking forward to more QTE falling simulators. No thanks.

I was surprised at how much enjoyed the last Tomb Raider. Thought it was a lot of fun. Though it was the only Tomb Raider I played.
