Big news for those of you who like poetry and subtlety, Majesco, Croteam and Devolver Digital have just announced the arrival of Serious Sam HD on XBLA. As you can imagine, the game will be given a band new HD look but it will also feature a 4 player coop mode so you can slaughter aliens with your friends. Serious Sam HD should hit our dimension this summer and it should cost about 1200 points.

I remember playing this co-op on the PC, which was very good fun, but without proper comms we got seperated and they... just... kept... on... coming.

This makes me want to get some guys together and hook-up notebooks, best idea I've had all week!

looks cool i'll buy it as long as it has split screen co-op. (with at least 2 people) the ps2 and xbox versions did, so it's be pretty pathetic if the 360 version didnt.

EDIT : NEXT summer? well screw that, i wont give a rats ass by then.

Not really accurate, but, why? What would make 2010 any less of a good year to play Serious Sam than 2009? Too dated in 2010? :P

This game will be just as fun next summer.

Eh, super-fun multiplayer and co-op experiences pretty much trump everything else for me. I'm still playing games from 2006/7 (and even further back) because of their immense replay value. Sure, my backlog is huge but I'm not the sort of gamer that has to play every big release. There's not enough time in the day to play every single good game and properly enjoy them. That shit is for gamerscore junkies and people with way too much time on their hands (one in the same!).

you're telling me that replaying serious sam takes priority over all the games coming out end of this year and start of next like mag, god of war 3, heavy rain, uncharted 2, mass effect 2, conviction, alan wake, forza 3, GT5 etc etc? i dont believe that for a second.

Well if MAG is a high priority game by all means, don't play Serious Sam, I guess.

And yes, I'll probably play maybe 50% of those games when they're actually new. Conviction, Wake, and FM2.. most likely.

I'm in no hurry. There's more games than there is time anyway.

Looks cool for a Serious Sam remake, but again, i dont have the time nor interest in spending time with replaying an old game when there's tons of new games i havent even finished yet lol.

And they just keep coming.
I cant believe im saying this but, the games market is becoming oversaturated.
But obviously its a damn good thing :D

Awesomeness, I loved this game as well as second encounter on PC. I will most definitely be buying this. I'm wonder how it will control on a console though cause this game is pretty hectic and you need to be able to react fast.

I play most of my FPS on the PC, although I'm half decent at Halo as well.. but I played Serious Sam + The Second Encounter on the original Xbox and it was a blast. It has been confirmed for the PC as well though, if it's a serious issue.

Becoming? It has been over-saturated for some time. If you think you can play every great game, new or old, you're kidding yourself. Most of those supposed "triple-A" releases won't hold a candle to this in terms of fun-with-your-friends gameplay, anyway. That's especially true if there's local split-screen, and I certainly hope there would be since it's included in the original Xbox's port of the game.

I will never, ever finish my backlog. It will just continue to grow until I die. Hell, I'm just playing Bioshock now.. and that's going to take forever to complete if I keep getting distracted by COD4 and TF2.

True, but as an avid gamer I'll no doubt be buying everything. Putting a great game next to another great game doesn't somehow stop it being great anymore. It's Serious Sam for crying out loud.
