I don't know if it's me, but I think there's a new Silent Hill 5 image that appeared on the web. If you've already seen it, you have the right to insult me.
Wow, typically Silent Hill. I love the series (not number 4), and I think I'm gonna love this one...
When the story is good, and the settting interesting, then it's already bought ^^
But they need some new elements, something that brings new wind.
I loved the first one, and loved the second one. But I had enough of checking doors and couldn't stand the repetitive gameplay in 3. And 4, man it was just so boring...
It's an old 1up.com image. They released it when the trailer debuted. Game looks shitty. Shame because I honestly thought SH5 could be the best looking next-gen game, considering how great SH2 looked for it's time.
I guess this game is early in development since we haven't heard anything until now, so for all i care this image is all good. I just hope that this game is an upswing from "the room" which had some really, and i mean REALLY, annoying elements, both graphically and game play wise. Like the health meter, all the light and those horrible ghosts. Unfortunately this picture is way too bright too, give me back my flashlight!

I agree, the setting and story of 4 was fantastic. The reason people hate it (or the reason people should hate it anyway) is for its lack of puzzles and emphasis on insanely boring combat.
The teaser for this is really chilling, and the fact that The Collective is making it, supervised by Akira Yamaoka convinces me that it'll be the best Silent Hill yet. Even if they were to go with an emphasis on combat like 4 did, with The Collective's sense of dynamic fighting as evident by the first Xbox Buffy game and Indiana Jones, coupled with Akira Yamaoka's eye for disturbing imagery it's gonna be special no matter what.
Don't judge on the game because of one only, poor screenshot, people. Please!
Wait until they release more of em, and the game has a certain percent of finishing!
