It’s been six years since SnowRunner opened the doors to the extreme off-road simulator for the general public thanks to Saber Interactive, and the game is now also available in a dedicated Switch 2 version, which offers greater detail and less noticeable pop-in at no additonal cost if you already own the Switch version. The frame rate remains locked at 30 frames per second though, but given the game’s very slow pace, this isn’t really a problem. We must still point out that, while the visuals in handheld mode are quite pleasing, once the console is docked and displayed on a 4K screen, the experience falls far short of what PC versions were capable of in 2020, with image quality remaining very soft overall, despite of the 1440p output resolution. This does not detract from the game’s many strengths, however, as it also offers lots of content to keep you busy for a while.
