SOCOM: Special Forces is the latest game in the long-running SOCOM line, and the second to appear on the PlayStation 3. Here's a new trailer. It is due for release exclusively on PS3 in April. Update: Stealth Trailer added.
Sony has announced that the Full Deployment Edition of SOCOM 4 will be available for $149.99 in the US on April 19. This Limited Edition bundle includes the game on Blu-ray, a Move controller, a navigation controller, a PlayStationEye camera and the PlayStation Move sharp shooter.
game is looking stunning, cannot wait play it and thanks for uploading that stealth trailer havent seen it before, looks brilliant, eyes watered when she stabbed guy in ball sack..lmao
Game actually looks quite a bit better than I expected. Not sure if I would pay full price for it, but I will definitely rent it or pick it up down the road.
The one thing I don't like is how they have "stealth levels" and "action levels". For once I would love a tactical shooter to just have an open environment and let ME decide how I want to approach it. Instead, we get linear levels that are designed, scripted, and hand placed to be approached with one style or the other, and you fail if you try anything different. Oh well, maybe next gen....
it's no killzone 3, but it looks a damn sight better then the original 3 socom games did on the PS2, even for the time they looked awful.
while killzone 3 has shown us how a shooter works great with MOVE, i think it'll be this that really sells it. shitty, modern warfare setting, just like practically every FPS released this gen, but at least it's 3rd person and squad based. makes it a little bit different....kinda
it's a multiplayer game tho imo. always has been, always will be. that's the bit i'm looking forward to.
KORNdog, I thought you were tired of modern "warfare" games, or am I misstaking? no personal attack, just a question :)

But TPS or FPS, its just a camera view, its still the same setting and style, modern war game. But now, you can see your character in movement LOL (which I like in all shooters btw).
For some reason, the change in camera view makes a huge difference for me, it's much easier to identify with your character if you can actually see them and the change in gameplay feel should also be quite significant if the third person mechanics are well programmed.
To my surprise I am actually relatively interested in this game, never played the GRAW titles or previous SOCOM so TPS contemporary warzone will actually be a fresh experience.
I agree, but the reason why I like third person is because I want to see the character model i am using.
But first person has that more personal feeling that its "you" who are there rather than a designed controller.
Games like Crysis, Halo (master chief to be more specific) the ones with no face, those are the ones I am talking about that it gives the feeling you have to imagine yourself in the game.
But anyways, I like TPS more than FPS.
And I do agree, TPS for Socom and even GRAW was very nice, gives a different style.
But for me, settings like modern and realistic, no matter what, I cant like it, just bores me hehe.

It's Zipper Interactive.
I'm sold.
So yes it is more tactical than most games.
Everything looks totally generic and like someone else said it looks like GRAW from 2006...
I'm not convinced.....
