GSY Video PS4

Now that the embargo on Spider-Man is fully lifted, we can propose gameplay videos of the game without any commentary. If you haven't bought the game yet, this will give you a chance to admire Insomniac's work in terms of visuals. It's just a bit of a shame not everything in the game is worthy of high praises. Not that it's going to affect the sales in the end obviously, which is all fine since it is still a fun game to play.

Hey Gamersyde. Question. I go to Edge browser on my Xbox One X and I play your videos in 4K and they just stutter, like a slide show. I go to the browser on my Sony 930e TV, I watch the same video and it's smooth as can be. What could this be? Xbox isn't via WiFi, neither is TV.

Wow...thanks for these...the street level details is very impressive considering the scale of the game. This may surpass Horizon for me in terms of open world visuals, or at least match it.

Indeed, I just tried on my X and even 1440p videos won't play properly.

I guess it's just a limitation in Edge as apps don't have access to all the console's power.
Dedicated video apps like Netflix or YouTube can play 4K properly, but it's not through a browser's video player.

i know this is a game, but the AIR FROZEN JUGGLES like this is DMC, look SO STUPID. Everything else is fluid and well choreographed but that is so off putting qhen he is stuck in air like gravity just fails for a couple of seconds, mas no sense in the spiderman universe.

It’s to represent his speed. Think bullet time. Slow actually means fast. I figured this was obvious by now, the matrix happened almost 20 years ago...

don't be daft, you don't see spiderman doing a bitch slap fest with The Fash on any cartoon with that flawed take.

These PS4 exclusives are the proof that you dont need overpriced Nvidia hardware to achieve the best of graphics .This game impresses me more than Battlefield V that runs on NASA Pc

Of course not, they're both from rival comic studios for starters. And you don't need to be the flash for slowed time to represent speed. Again, I will reference the matrix. Neo can't run at the speed of the flash either, but he still appears to move slow to show speed. Or how about the very human Max Payne? That's all it's there to do in Spiderman too. To show that his speed and reflexes are faster than that of a normal man while also maintaining some semblance of control for the player.

Non of this is new to movies and it certainly isn't new to games...

To be fair, the reason you want a top of the line graphics card on PC is to push higher frame rates. Games like GoW and HZD look great but they only run at 30 fps which greatly hampers the enjoyment I get from those games. I just play them once and then it's back to playing on PC with smooth as butter frame rates.

i think is stems from PC not really having many "doom3/crysis" type visual benchmark exclusive games anymore. seems all third party are working to the lowest common denominator these days (current gen being the xbone) because they can't afford to miss out the the potential sales of being on consoles. there are good looking exclusives on PC though, don't get me wrong, but nothing as impactful as crysis or doom 3 was.

i mean, imagine if there was a dev actually developing games exclusively for the highest end graphics cards? maybe even in SLI format in combination with the best CPU's... visuals would be unbelievable!...instead as is mostly the case, the high end of PC gaming tends to just be a constant increase in framerates, it's not the most exciting use of all that extra power, is it.

And that's why Nvidia is doing RTX instead of raw power. It's about time for progress to go in another direction. AI, physics, lighting etc. This is way more important than bump to 8k.

I'm fine with this really. Games look great enough these days and I just enjoy high frame rates more than additional visual candy. Gaming at 3440x1440 ultrawide 60-100 fps is amazing.

I feel the same. I play games since the Commodore era and I think we reached a time were the only thing that games need is more FPS and real 4K in consoles. Games already looks spectacular. There is still room for make them look photorealistic, but I still want my games to look like games, not movies.

eh, people always go to the photorealistic. I mean it's nothing about frame "real" perfect as it is better. expectations vs. reality.

Playing Bioshock vs. the game has already strated. This Spiderman game looks really good, especially on cutscenes, but in gameplay it was already topped by previous games on what it goes in fidelity and no one is really blown or suprised. Second Son was probably the defacto hype killer for most of this open world games.

chasing realism is the entire reason games cost so much and require such large teams to make. 4K assets don't help that either mind you, so the resolution jumps aren't entirely free from blame, but look at nintendo games, if they prove anything it's that good games succeed regardless of whether the graphics look realistic. or hell, look at fortnite!

the focus on realism isn't sustainable i don't think, but you can still make great games without it. just make them stylistically appealing. they usually age better for it too.

While I enjoy graphics like anyone I do think photo realism is very overrated. Driveclub, horizon zero dawn, ori and the blind forest, are all very gorgeous but not because of raw fidelity but because of amazing art styles and lighting choices etc. all these games have plenty of hidden low texture assets etc but they use the proper technique to hide it well in a very polished display. Battlefield V is probably more technically demanding then battlefield 1 or battlefront 2 but those both look far better imo due to certain design choices

Are you devastated now that PC gaming will go back to 1080P 40fps with the advent and ridiculous focus on ray tracing? At the brink of having single cards that could do 4K 60+ fps consistently in all titles and Nvidia fucks it all up by pushing the industry into ray tracing. I hope developers still focus on high resolution high FPS when it comes to their engine and game design instead of everybody turning their heads to shit performance + ray tracing in order to say 'me too!'.

raytracing applied as just some aftertought option is insane spec requirements for diminished returns. A game shou have it's visual effect take in account in production for the visual gain, is not it shouldn't even be there, fucking up performance.
