Personally i love Splatterhouse one through three so this is a given for me, though i feel a bit concerned about how it will turn out. It really lacks the spark the old games had. The genuinely freaky monsters are all gone and the whole debacle what with bottle rocket closing down and everything...i don't know. It'll probably suck but it's still splatterhouse so i'll end up getting it anyway :)
As I'm currently playing God of War 3, the difference in visuals between GOW and this is absolutely gargantuan. I know it had a troubled development but come on Namco, this is terrible stuff.

That's the lame ass SNES version. If you want to see what this game is really about get a genesis emulator and play it on that. Then you will see what Splatterhouse it all about.

MY BAD don't get it for the genesis get it for a Turbo Grafx 16 emulator. The genesis only have part 2 and 3.
Maybe these guy's will make the ever so burried in irony 'Thrill Kill' part 2, as I think this surpasses it just a bit, and all consoles of today need a multiplayer game as such.
Part one was released for arcade and TG16, the TG16 version is the gimped one and has shittier graphics. The arcade version played in the video is the best version. Splatterhouse 2 and 3 were on the genesis though, and they are both good, but i especially like 3 and hold 2 as probably the least good of the 3 :)
