Put enough time in the demo, especially the trick it event where I finally reached 27mil. Cannot wait to get my hands on the full game and trick it down an avalanching mountain.
Don't know why but the demo didn't excite me at all.... Had high hopes in it and can't put my finger on something that really bothers me. Just felt nothing special to me. Will rent it though and maybe the excitement of the old days comes back and I buy it
Been playing the demo for hours and got the game in my mailbox today. Still another 6 hours to go....
Blue_Eagle: wow, 27 millions is quite a lot! Mainly played the race and managed a time of 1:59. Only got around 10 millions on the trick event though.
I started only getting about 6mil, then 10mil regularly then 15, then 19 and took ages to pass the 20mil bracket. I was namely trying to beat my mates 25mil score he had set. Basically to put it this way, rewinding is bad, it doesn't give you back your combo so that 5-9k score you see losing from physically rewinding is nothing when you compare it to losing the combo score and multiplier, could potentially lose anything from 500k-15mil. You basically need to keep tricky on as much as you can, preferably the whole track and alternate between ubers and tweaked tricks, as well as getting to 20x multiplier as fast as poss. Takes a little practice but eventually you get it and omg does it become such a thrill seeing awsome wtf things happen on your screen so fluidly.

I am a REAL Fan, and this SSX sucks. Dont care about the general reception, make my own,do it too. The SSX series dies with this shit release, accept it.

Maybe you should also accept the idea that your opinion is not everyone's. Which basically means that some fans may like the game and not consider it as a death sentence for the series. You are all free to express your thoughts about the game, but respect those who don't share your opinion.

Well of course, maybe you can just tell me how to use the answer button for three people at a time. My post is also addressed to everyone here, not just him, as the "you are all free blablabla" last sentence seems to indicate. Look, the fella is coming in here talking about his "opinion" as if it were fact. It isn't fact. What IS a fact is that he's talking absolute bollocks in regards to the series dying. Really, I don't get this trend of "if it ain't old school, it ain't good" because that's bollocks too. If you can't embrace change, then why the are you playing video games for in the first place? Sometimes you have to shake things up a bit to keep it fresh. I for one, would certainly not want SSX to be a direct remake of the originals, albeit with new tracks and skins. That would be just boring!

No. It just sounds like a 10 year old game; a complete stroke in the same vein that the HD remake of Halo was. Even though they re-skined that game, It's still the same game from over a decade ago. That goes for any of these HD remakes. They're completely pointless. You either go all out to ramp it up to 1080p and give it new skins and geometry and stuff, or just don't bother at all.

Yeah, well, I'm talking about the overall direction of a game, not just certain little nitpickings, that if something is amiss from previous games, some people just cannot get past it and throw the toys out of the pram (see EA's BF3 forum for this). True the interaction could and should be in there, but it's a minor gripe. I don't get how minor things should outweigh something that should be merited in it's own right, instead of being compared to something that was good some 10 years ago. The impression I got from the demo is that the SSX of present reminded me a lot of the first time I played the original, which the core draw was nothing but fun. Is the current SSX fun? Absolutely. What I don't get is the overreaction and the drama people spew over a few changes in the direction. The core of SSX is still in there.
Well, I think you have to keep in mind that people are more likely to speak up online about their dissatisfaction about anything in general. And to some, there have been too many changes to that core.

There are enough "minor" nitpicks within the new SSX to form 1 big problem imo. Put simply, it isnt the SSX i wanted, i'd rather play the old games in HD with an improved framerate. Much like i'd rather play a hitman HD collection over the piss poor excuse for a sequel they currently have in development. To each their own.
Played the FULL version last night, not the demo and it is great. Exactly what this kind of game is supposed to be, FUN. Wing suit rocks also (nothing people without the game can comment on, so don't even start). As always with games, for most parts it is a matter of opinion.
Very much looking forward to the new Hitman also, even if some people who only have seen a couple of cgi's, believe they can form a valid opinion about it and say it's poor. LOL! Children these days....
