Wii PS2

The craftsmen behind Star Wars: Force Unleashed discuss the PS2/PSP/DS/Wii versions of their game in this lenghty video. Are brought in front of the camera Haden Blackman, project lead, producer Dan Wasson and its two associates Ed Tucker and Matt Vella. Other faces show up briefly. Ideal to learn more about how these versions were approached by the team.

Cool video. On the one hand I'm impressed by the way they've tried to make the experience work across all the formats available, on the other hand Im rather pissed off at them for denying the PC this title citing the lame ass excuse about the PC not being able to handle the game engine.

Ya, the non PC crap is garbage as far as I'm concerned, my PC can run circles around any console.

Did they say that??? I'm gunna mail Crysis and have a note on it saying "TRY AND PLAY THIS ON YOUR 360 BITCHES!!!"

Oh well... I'll be getting it on my 360 anyway... Controls wouldn't be that great on PC without a gamepad (which I have, got a wireless 360 receiver just for that, but w/e). I get the feeling they wanna keep it on TV screens to make it feel more like a movie. Which is an interesting thing to do if that is true and their just making stupid excuses... lol.. But it isn't so w/e...

Indeed, I think people may have misunderstand what they said, they certainly never said it in those exact words. But the game does have very nice graphics, and throwing around these kinds of physics, I highly doubt the majority of PC owners would be able to play it.

And of course there's piracy. Games just don't sell on the PC anymore, and even brand new ones sell at a fraction of the cost of PS3/360 games. Why would they release a PC version, when it will only detract from their over all profit?

Again, I have to use the Crysis example. It was hyped up to be the PC's Halo and it sold around four copies, but was pirated by about four million. Face it, most publishers aren't going to bother with the PC anymore, which is clearly apparant from games like this and GTA IV.

That's all bullshit. Did COD4 for PC detract for IW's overall sales? No--it added to them. And uh, Crysis is selling beyond EA's expectations.. and last I checked R* hadn't said that GTA won't come to the PC, just that it won't come on the same day as the console release. Hell, they're porting pretty much every high profile Xbox 360 game to the PC. Mass Effect is coming shortly. Face it, you're wrong.

But then again.. why would they release this game on the PC? It's clearly targeted at a console demographic, and clearly designed around the console experience. This aint Jedi Knight people.. if it were, I would be complaining, but as it stands I'll be happy to play this on my Xbox instead.

Four copies.. give me a f'n break.

Obviously I didn't mean four copies literally, my point was that it sold poorly.

And yes, games like GTA and Mass Effect will be coming to the pc eventually, but does anyone doubt the same won't be true here? All we know is that there's no initial PC release.

Yeah Grift. IW so happy with the sales that they didn't even complain about the "rampant PC piracy:
They Wonder Why People Don't Make PC Games Any More

On another PC related note, we pulled some disturbing numbers this past week about the amount of PC players currently playing Multiplayer (which was fantastic). What wasn't fantastic was the percentage of those numbers who were playing on stolen copies of the game on stolen / cracked CD keys of pirated copies (and that was only people playing online).

Not sure if I can share the exact numbers or percentage of PC players with you, but I'll check and see; if I can I'll update with them. As the amount of people who pirate PC games is astounding. It blows me away at the amount of people willing to steal games (or anything) simply because it's not physical or it's on the safety of the internet to do.

Oh wow, that totally means that it detracted from the total sales of COD4, which are among the best this generation! Come on.. you're smarter than that, right?

WinterSnowblind's comments are still just plain wrong, and your implication that COD4 for PC DAMANGED IW's overall sales is plain wrong too (notice how I never said that they were thrilled with piracy?). Not only did it not damage their bottom line, but it indeed improved it. You can be upset about rampant piracy and still have a successful product. The PC version of COD4 has sold very well in its market, and Crysis, despite implications that it has bombed has actually exceeded EA's own expectations. I guess you think that COD6 will be console only now too, huh?

I'm not sure what this sort of platform bashing has anything to do with this thread though, simply because some random console game isn't being developed simultaneously for the PC. This isn't Raven's Jedi Knight IV, is it? Again, I'll point back to my original point: Why would anyone expect this game to release on PC in the first place?

You guys could at least pick something that actually bombed (ya know, like UT3) to support that argument. Despite 402's QQ attitude about PC piracy, COD4 for PC did not detract from COD4's overall sales--it added to them. Just like Mass Effect and GTA (assuming the latter does indeed come to the PC) will add to the total install base for those games as well.

Just wow.
