As you are certainly aware by now the Xbox Live Marketplace demo of Stranglehold is available since yesterday, and we took the time to capture and encode a long and rather large video. Personally I've really enjoyed playing the demo, and I think I'll be able to replay it a dozen of times without getting bored. The game may think really messy while watching it, but it's definitely a title you have to play. Also a special mention for the cutscenes, quite well directed and making me want to see more. The first great John Woo "movie" since Hardboiled?

Commented on 2007-08-09 19:36:10It's really too bad the PLAYSTATION 3 version is coming later so close to Halo 3. I hope the collector's edition is still on track to come out in August...

Commented on 2007-08-09 19:53:25for the first time ever i was watching the cut scenes but not thinking 'goddam stupid cut scenes hurry up and let me play'
if anything, i enjoyed the cutscenes more then the game lol
is it true 'stranglehold' is a film too??
Commented on 2007-08-09 19:56:59I thought the demo was CRAZY great! I wasn't that interested in the game- but the quality of the cinema's and destruction just really turned me around. LOVED it!

Commented on 2007-08-09 23:00:02I've played through it several times already. Just too bad you have to sit through the video the first time you finish it :(
This is my Max Payne fix if Remedy never gets to do a sequel. Also, the street scene after the cop-house video is the first time you see realtime animation. In 720p that scene looks fab.. if volition and rockstar could program we might have a GTA-game that looked like that this gen (and ran properly).
edit: you can make this game look bad by playing it poorly. A good player will lean around corners, kick tables over to make cover, ride the trolly, shoot every sparkly trap thingy etc. ;)

Special Edition pre-ordered a few mins. ago, thx to the outstanding demo. That's the way it's supposed to be from time to time ;)

Commented on 2007-08-10 02:53:14but since the gameplay is so damn fun i really dont care bout thoughs things other then the 7 levels. if only this game was a bit longer i would definetly get this game despite its "meh" story and its semi-ugly graphics.
