Xbox 360 PS3

Stranglehold is back with this brand new trailer, and it's as promising as ever thanks to the great graphics and animation, with what looks like some very fun gameplay.

hmm bit jaggie compared to old shots

what do you think this will play better on (pad wise) 360 or PS3 , i would like it for the PS3 just to make my collection on that machine a bit bigger, but i want the one that controls the best.

is this going to play like ...errm bad example i know but say brute force where it was FPS controls on a third person game, or does it control like a third person game, due to 360 pad been better for the FPS style and PS3 been better for the third person style .

It's John Woo, it's meant to be over the top.. :)

The game looks cool, because blowing stuff up is cool.. I hope there's some sort of multiplayer (versus or co-op)..

The game looks good but the constant delays are making me not that interested anymore.I wonder is it UE 3 that keeps delaying the game or something else?

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this game but there's not much to discuss, there isn't much marketing and information about the game overall, and the release keeps getting pushed back. I hope it'll all be worth it in the end.

is it just my PC that makes these screens look very bad, or is it the developer that released these horrible screens?

EDIT: sorry, i didnt see those were taken from a trailer lol

If anything UE3 should make the developement of the game faster. I'm very interested in this game, both as a big fan of Max Payne, Psi-Ops, and Hard Boiled.

There is multiplayer, versus only, I think.

This game looks interesting. I would agree with the statement of saying Max Payne goes Hong Kong. The interactivity of the enviornment in the game is what catchs my eye the most. I think if this game has a lot of potential and if they can move the single player aspects into a good multiplayer then this game will be a huge hit. Could possibly be a sleeper hit. Well we will just have to wait and see. This game at the least to me is a rental and that would be only if the multiplayer is not that great or something else happens that makes me chance my mind.

Hard Boiled is hardly like a Bruce Lee movie, it's not a kung fu film, it's all about guns and explosions.

It's more Chow Yun Fat meets Max Payne, pretty close though :)

Well, you've already said that you don't plan on playing online on PSN (for some reason) and this game may wind up having a compelling multiplayer component..so it seems to me that the decision would be pretty natural.

I agree that the 360 pad is better suited for FPS, but I'm not sure where you're getting that it's not well suited for your typical TPS too. I think you'll be fine.

For what it's worth, most third person shooters control just like an FPS w/ a third person camera. Max Payne would have been a far better example than Brute Force, especially considering just how much this looks like Max Payne.

I wouldnt even say that. This is just the video game version of Chow Yun Fat/John Woos' movies. Obviously its a new story line but this is basically letting you play Hard Boiled, The Killer, or A Better Tomorrow I & II. Max Payne, et al, basically copied these movies, with the gun play, diving, etc, the guys behind max payne admit to it and included Woo references. The bullet time was obviously first originated with the matrix, but each have done them a little differently.

Still looks like a clean game that should be just pure joyous fun.

Yea, Max Payne is heavily influenced by John Woo flicks, no doubt. What I meant by "Chow Yun Fat meets Max Payne" was more a reference to bullet-time, and how it's used in a videogame. As a third person shooter, this has plenty in common with Max Payne. Only natural though.

I love Hard Boiled (actually, all of those movies, but Hard Boiled is perhaps my favorite John Woo movie) one of the many reasons I'm looking forward to this game.

Agreed, if it's a shooter, the 360 pad is better.

Also agreed about the online. You already have a 360, and already pay for live. Why wouldn't you rejustify that payment by playing more games on the 360's superior service?
