Here are six 720p screenshots of Final Fantasy XI, Square-Enix's MMORPG. Some images are old, some are new. Quite low-tech, but its nice design and large depht of field makes it nice to look anyway. Better than noting, and it's still cool to have a MMORPG for launch day.

I hope, I hope they will improve the optics by 200% minimum . . .... otherwise this looks like some kind of sabotage from Square-Enix . . ...

especially after that beautiful Tech-Demo . . ... they are capable of way more!

Personally, I'm far more excited with Enchanted Arms

They won't.

This is a quick upgrade port so they can make some more money from their MMORPG ventures and test the waters of XBox Live.

The Tech demo game will be confirmed once they are satisfied with the system I would imagine.

Do you believe the game would work with PC and PS2 versions if they upgraded it? I think a game that is cross-platform online should be as equal as possible on all platforms. Think about it: you see a dense forrest when playing on Xbox 360 and the PS2 player on your party sees just few trees here and there. It wouldn't work.

Besides, this is MMORPG, if you're playing for the graphics you're in the wrong game. PSO worked across two "next gen" platforms aswell as the PC long after the Dreamcast iteration because the gameplay was so strong. If this doesn't hold up without graphics it's not worth playing in the first place.

And let's face it; it's not like it's ugly.
