According to the Japanese Web site, both Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3 version and Xbox360 was exhibited at SEGA both in Tokyo game show.
I do not know that this movie is either version.

Why couldn't they just have Sonic, Knuckles and Tails? Shadow and Silver look so damned stupid and are like the "Poochy" of the Sonic universe.
Sometimes they give us more of what we don't want and less of what we do. In this case their giving us playable characters that in my opinion add too much salt to what was already good. Those other hedgehogs have super powers while Sonic is equipped with speed, and that's what we love the game for. It's just too many characters. Remember the fat cat and all of those characters from the Dreamcast game. It was really unnecessary. I saw some ridiculous cgi trailer that showed Sonic carrying a teenage girl. That's one big ass hedgehog. I always pictured Sonic to be 3 feet tall at the most. It looked ridiculous.

Well, being the biggest Sonic fan in the house, I can say that Sonic does actually follow a consistent "universe", and Shadow is a really really great part of that universe if you look at his background story. This new game ties into the themes presented in Sonic Rush, where Blaze comes from another dimension and searches for the Sol emeralds, which are basically the mirror image of the Chaos emeralds in her world.
This new game seems to take place in another world, perhaps Blaze's? Silver is looking to stop the world from ending, and he's searching for the "Iblis Trigger", but whether that refers to Shadow or Sonic is unclear. Seeing as Shadow was created to protect the world, and later corrupted into thinking he was meant to destroy it, chances are he's the Iblis Trigger.
Tails and Knuckles will be in the game, but they aren't playable. They just don't play an integral part in this story.
the only way to make sonic better is to go back to good ol' 2D again...3D messed almost every classic franchize up, SF, Castelvania, Final Fight, Ninja Turtles, to name a few...the only one that 3D made better in my oppion was Mario...and maybe KOF a little maximum impact never hurt nobody
I don't know what the problem is with Shadow he adds a slight darker tone to the happy happy Sonic world that I think is needed. My favourite Sonic character in fact but upto personal taste

hahaaaa, how true! And some of the guys from the past were pretty unnecessary, but these two ain't bad at all. As long as you aren't forced to play with them(SA2 was it?), it's all good, but Shadow is just like Sonic, and this Silver guy looks enjoyable to me.
I really miss the old Sonic formula from the 90s, though! Is it really a must to have cgi with a big story and all sorts of characters for a game like this? I think this would work well and even end up better if it followed the old style of just sticking to the action, with a good atmosphere and simple story. Forget all that dimension crap and useless plot elements!
Still, SA1 wasn't like the old Sonic games in that respect, and it was a really good game. This one will at least be fun! Just not qualified to be called "Sonic the hedgehog", should be SA3.

by the way, one thing that's safe to say about this game: the 360 version will be better for the controller alone. will the ps3 version really look better? i thought the gpus capabilities were similar, or that the 360's was even edging ahead. we'll wait and see, eh!
