that's nice. I bought Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction recently, and I thought it's really a classic platformer and it needs a new direction. I don't know if the new one went to a new different direction. one can only hope.
I agree the series need a kick in the butt in terms of evolution of gameplay. The formula is great, but after so many games each one is getting less and less exciting.
That being said, the games have charm out the ass and probably the funniest game series I've played. Quark is too damn funny!

Love the Ratchet series and for me it's many of the core things it does that never get old, especially the shooting aspects and the always creative weapons as well as the great writing and humour.
As a platformer it has never ascended the same heights it scales as a shooter but from what I have seen this one has some interesting new platforming mechanics and the space exloration sidequests looks pretty cool as well.
Definite buy for me at some point although annoyingly it comes out within days of MW2 over in Europe, I can only afford one of them at this point...I may end up actually flipping a coin to decide.
Visually great, really nice looking. Like the inclusion of the rocket boots. Gives rise to more multi-point location missions (if you get me). Because you got mode of transport at all times. Judging by the footage maybe there could be an 'escort' objective type where you capture and take a target from one point to another on the map.
Dont think the hardcore shooting element should be completely eliminated ether just contained points, where you can take on some set challenges. That should keep anyone whos liked that aspect of ratchet in the past happy.
