The Crew Beta: From New York to L.A.

The beta of The Crew will be over tomorrow at 2 p.m. CET so those who have acess to it still have a few hours to explore the US freely. For those who haven't been able to play the beta, we thought it'd be nice to propose a video of our full journey from New York City to Los Angeles in a time lapse video similar to the E3 trailer. If you're old enough, you'll recognize Dire Straits' Once Upon a Time in the West, which we thought would fit well here - it's also BlimBlim's iconic rock band and we wanted to please him for once. We also have to warn you that we encountered a bug with the textures when crossing the desert but we decided not to edit the video so you wouldn't miss the nice landscapes of that state.
Update: Added a video showing some extracts of this trip in real time.

The map is huge. I can only remember Test Drive Unlimited when it comes to that scale.

Impressive. How long did it take in realtime?
119km with what I guess was 150km/h average speed so around 45min=

Hard to see in this video, but in some proper gameplay videos you clearly see the lack of a sense of speed. I bet this game won't be too good. just a feeling.

I think the game will be great my only concern is MMO aspect. I rather prefer SP. The video is great reminds me of the cool E3 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibVKyF78RE

This is how NFS The Run was supposed to be like!
The graphics don't really feel like PS4 but everything else makes up for it. Though I'm tired of seeing the same small list of cars.
I wonder if they'll ever do the same thing with Japan. I'd love to drive around there.

get the crew on PC, horizon 2 on XB1 and DC on PS4, if you have a PC, XB1 and PS4 then just wait till the crew is in a steam sale, its a day one for me as the dev team behind the crew are the same dev team who did the first TDU.

I am quite stoked for this game, but I am also a bit worried about graphics on the PS4 as well... However, the beta was on PC if I'm not mistaken, so I guess this ain't PS4 anyways. But then again, PC should have better graphics than PS4, unless this was run on low-medium settings...

But if the game is awesome, I guess I can live with OK graphics.

i don't know if their were PC settings and if they were there wouldn't be many options, given this is not the final code as the beta game play shows there is still quite a lot of work to do "why crank the setting up to max if the games not stable enough to run at max"maybe when the games gone gold we can see how good it looks on PC but for now im still impressed with the scale of the map.

I hope Ubisoft adds a single player linear mode like Blur, Project Gotham, Split Second etc.. using the same huge map for the tracks for people who don't like open world, even as a DLC it's ok.

linear mode for people who don't like open world, that makes no sense at all in a game designed to be open world, if you want linear get forza 5, Pcars, DC or any other racing game designed to be linear, also this game has been designed around multiplayer so creating a mode for the minority of people who don't want to play online is just wasting resources!

Hmm, I don't like this idea. Buying too many games and playing little of everything unless you have lots of time is something I would not consider. I think this game will be good though.
