After last weeks' gameplay clips, 2K Games and Starbreeze unveil a real trailer for The Darkness. And it looks absolutely awesome. July can't come soon enough...
hmm, the gameplay videos looked amazing and the game looks very promissing, but this trailer...hm, feels like its trying to appeal a bit to the heavymetal/goth crowd. pretty cheezy if you ask me... :/

Dude, you eat the hearts of people you kill in order to level up. I dont think subtlety exists in this game. :P You should see the finishing move kills.

ok, i confess. it's just that i'm too embarrased to show this to my girlfiend! what i really meant is they should show subtlety in the trailer, so that i can convince her to give me the game :P
It's always gonna be cheesy when someone tries too hard to sound "devilish" and evil. The "embrace the darkness" line is so over-acted it's just completely silly. Hopefully the game won't suffer too much from all that, as it seems to be rather trailer oriented stuff.

disagree 100%. i think patton makes for an awesome voice actor and really sounds quite sadistic, this is by no means a "silly" game.
pre-ordered, and im expecting one f the best FPS's this year. (not counting bioshock)

Totally my point! But the game is going to be great i think (hope). It's just that Gamming is growing into such an interesting and huge entertainment form, and also art form that it hurts seing this kind of thing "destroy, mutilate" bla bla tag lines, on such an interesting product, which just makes it feel again something for lonely angst teenagers at their parents basement.
Anyway, enough of that.
Oh, and is that really mike patton? could just as well be any voice audio-manipulated. Is he going to narrate the game?
