The beta for Tom Clancy's The Division should be around the corner now but Ubisoft decided to tease us a bit more with this new video of the game, in French only for the time being. Update: English trailer added.

Visually the One (alpha) version is an universe behind the first shown gameplay trailer!
Same procedure as every year, Ubisoft...
Try two universes behind or three even to make your post even more typical of the Ubi hate. I'd say you're exaggerating but that would be such an understatement that well... :)
Remember what an Xbox One can do, it's an online open world game, they're game developers not miracle workers.
I played the alpha last year and while it clearly doesn't look as impressive as the very first footage....saying it's a universe behind it is bullshit. It simply is.
Absolutely loved the Alpha and up until playing it just dismissed this as another Ubi "meh" but i couldnt put it down once i started it. Levelling was addictive fun! Great with friends online and pretty cool to kickback with solo.. Day 1 for me :)

Judging from the Alpha, you can play most of it solo.
Oh, i know. I just don't like paying for something that will ultimately be as useful as a coaster in a few years time when they decide to turn off the servers. I'd buy it for £5 maybe?

The fact this is online only kills it for me. It looks decent though visually at least.
Yeah same here. I'm really craving an open world tactical single player game, but it seems no devs are interested in them. I have read that you can play the entirety of this game in single player, it will just be more difficult as you will have to be a jack of all trades and handle the sniping, drones, close combat etc all yourself.
I will have to see when Wildlands comes out to decide if I will give this a try. That looks leaps and bounds better in every aspect (massive open world, better visuals, an actual story, tons of vehicles and approaches), and is also being developed as more of a SP/Coop experience. If that is still a year out, the Division may have to hold me over if it is at all playable a SP experience.
It's pretty sad that UBI are pretty much the only devs giving these games a go though. I think there would be a massive audience for an actual SP tactical combat game that revives the old ghost recon or R6 gameplay. I'm sure as we speak UBI is busy trying to figure out how to make Splinter Cell a Facebook based MMO shooter...

I was about to bring this up after reading your first paragraph. They're fairly different games.
I'm glad they're making online-only games. Not every game needs to be for everyone.
It doesn't look that bad. Though I wish the PC version retains some of it's original graphics for ultra settings. My PC was ready long ago for this game.

LOLOLOL Defended the devs by slapping down the system. Too funny. I'm wondering if the last core they unlocked will make a significant difference in the games to come.

Looks like the XBox footage we've seen leaked, to me, with some kind of temporal AA or temporal resolve. (Which will become defacto commonplace in the next few years.)
Looks good from the trailer but we all know you cant trust those for a long time and you cant even trust live played demos and such.
It all depends how good is the loot system and the end game , how many levels and how much time it takes to reach max level. How big is the world and how deep are quests or activities.
Question to you guys is there a dedicated PVP mode like in Destiny or its like a traditional MMO the dark zone/zones and that's it ?

I agree. If Ubi make it a SP/Co-op I am interested. If they make it just multiplayer, as they did R6 Siege, which was a big mistake, I shall not buy it.
I don't want some 12 year old nerd ruining the game for me by running around and shooting everything including his own team mates.

You can support Ubisoft endlessly, i'm totally fine with that . To my mind, Ubisoft have been lost a lot of their reputation and it's their own fault!!! Don't blame the consumers...

And don't blame the devs they're not the publisher. I have played the alpha and considering the hardware it was running on, it was so not a universe behind the initial presentation.
If you thought what we saw back then could run exactly the same on Xbox One or PS4, you're probably one of these guys who still believe politicians can keep their promises. Will the game turn out good? I don't know. But please, we don't need to see people bash a game that clearly looks better than most so called next gen titles just because it's not 100% identical to a stupid e3 demo.
You're not happy with Ubi, ignore their products and don't give them your money, as simple as that. I don't even know why you bothered to play the alpha.
