Who said that Saturdays where slow days? After a great GSD, here comes another excellent video with the first 10 minutes of The Darkness (360 version). It's also the first video done with Snoopers' brand new HD capture hardware, the same as mine and DjMizuhara's. More footage of this great game soon.

Great game. Worth the money.
If you liked Riddick - Butchers bay, get this one. Its very similar.

Holy gawd, these files just keep getting bigger and bigger, youre making my 1mbit connection cry. :(

I don't even have the game yet, becuase they unexpectedly delayed the game in the nordic countries. >:( Order'd from UK! I just cant wait 2 more weeks!

Im looking forward to part 2 - the darkness powers emcraced! :P

Offcourse, they are both made by starbreeze, i think these are the only 2 games they made untill now. Offcourse i can be wrong!
Anyway, i loved butcher bay(and i still do), it's like a long playable movie!
And it looks that it is going to be the same with "the darkness".
That is why this just became a must buy for me!!!

Yeah, this game is brilliant from a storytelling perspective - it's one of those rare games that transcend being just a game.

a must buy for me, I'm a big fan of riddick - escape from buthers bay, I've played like 6 times !
I saw the first 25 mis, AMZING !

How is the PS3 version BTW? It isn't broken, is it? Choppy framerate, poor lighting, et cetera...

I'd like to be able to check this out. But if it's a lazy port, I'll give it a pass. The 1UP review I read didn't mention any glaring problems.

Anyways... this game looks f'ing awesome, that opening scene had me dodging traffic in my chair :D This game has gone from 30 june release to TBA in my country. Noooooo!! I want it nooooow!!!

Looks like gamers in Germany are going to have to wait a little longer to play The Darkness on their Xbox 360s, and the version the end up with will different quite a bit from what we're playing now in the state and UK. Probably the most major change needed before the game is released is the removal of Nazi symbolism, which of course hearkens back to a period of history that Germany isn't too proud of.

Other changes to the German 360 version include removal of four of the Darkling kill methods, and the ripping out heart animation being replaced with sucking out souls via a green mist. Weak. German players could always trade or import the uncut version the rest of Europe is getting, but I wouldn't recommend it, since possessing a copy of it in Germany can carry a sentence of up to three years in jail. The Darkness expurgated version should hit Germany as soon as changes are completed.

Im not german, but currently living in germany, and yeah i bought the game on play.com(uk) and i can only find this simply outrageous. these people are going beserk with this censorchip, i mean, i take the risk of going to jail by playing a video game!!!! Is middle age all over again o.O

possession = legal
playing the ukversion in germany = legal
selling it in germany = jail

It's fairly good. There are MUCH worse ports than this.
Oh and the scalling works (like in Sigma up to 1080p) and totaly NOT like in R6:Vegas. :)

I read both IGN reviews and it seemed to me like the reviewer played the game in its entirety on 360 and only gave the PS3 version a cursory glance.

"Well, I've got to differentiate them somehow... so let's tack that bit on there."

Anyway, I didn't expect the game would run well on PS3. IIRC, the devs said the game is built on "an evolved version of the Riddick engine." So, essentially, its a PC game at its core.

Funny enough, their other game, Riddick, on the Xbox suffered from sporadic aliasing.
Sometimes it was like the edge of a hack saw (mainly in the cutscenes), other times it was good.

The multiplayer is unplayable. Seriously. Any more than 2 players and it turns into a slideshow.
