Hotel Barcelona hasn't really received a very warm welcome, either from the press or from gamers. It must be said that, while the world created by Suda51 and Swery61 is as original as fans could have hoped for, the decision to make the game a rogue-like wasn't necessarily the wisest given the fierce competition in the genre. As is often the case with the games developed by these two iconic Japanese artists, the end result is rather clumsy in terms of gameplay, giving the impression of a title that lacks polish. We weren't convinced by the visuals during gameplay either and combat doesn't feel as responsive as it should. We'll let you take a look at the beginning of this bizarre adventure in the following video, and we look forward to hearing your feedback if you've already decided to give the game a try.
