Youtube PS4

While some are already playing the final version of The Last of Us Part II, all the others could discover some new gameplay footage in today's State of Play. As with Ghost of Tsushima, image quality was horrible during the streamed event, but Sony and Playstation have quickly updated their YouTube channel to add a 4K version which obviously looks a lot better. As for the HQ video you might expect here, well, it seems the people in charge at Playstation do not think it is necessary to make it available to the press anymore. We'll keep our fingers crossed anyway, but don't hold your breath too much.

Completely forgot about this, was watching an amazing movie instead. This will work great as a desert after the main course. Cheers!

Digging all improvements of mechanics and larger levels. Dat dodge.
No infected animals boo. That water sequence was missing alligators!
Graphics and animations great, but not even close to 2018 demo which is to be expected. Still on fence if i should get it now or just wait for ps5.

The reason I own a PS4 Pro was to play this game. I can't freaking wait, and have managed to keep spoiler free so far. :) I don't mind playing it again on PS5 with improved graphics. :) I'm so tempted on paying a premium for the Elie edition now. :P

That was a great demonstration, i thought it showed the various aspects of the game really well. Lots of new footage without spoiling too much.

Animations still look incredibly fluid and very impressive  they're just not 100% perfect all the time like that E3 demo which is to be expected. This footage looked like someone actually playing a finished product and not trying to make it look flawless. Realistically some transitions just have to be sacrificed to keep gameplay responsiveness. While not perfect tlou2 clearly seems to still have way more animation transition coverage than any other game right now. As a comparison  Rdr2 has amazing animation too but its biggest problem is that for most of the animations you have to wait until the character is perfectly positioned and some transitions can be very long, not to mention high input lag, all of which made some of the gameplay feel sluggish and sometimes looking awkward too. Don't mean to be so down on rdr2  i loved that game, i just like the way tlou2 is doing animation way more. Of course still need to play it for myself to verify if it controls as good as it looks but from the footage it doesn't seem sluggish at all to me.

Ellie can finally swim. There better be some line or joke written about it in the game. Also i like the rope replacing ladders/boxes. Although im sure there will still be some where it makes sense.

Pretty darn impressive. Animations aren't as fluid as the original showing, since that was obviously scripted. Graphics look as good, however.

I'm predicting that this may run similar on PS5 to the Remaster with 1080p/60fps and 4k/30fps (not checkerboard) options available. Hopefully.

Those melee combat animations at the 10:25 mark look better than anything we have seen in the 2018 demo.

lots of gamers have already voiced their opinions on the writing.
i'm sure it's not for everyone. the issue is not character diversity but how much of a connection the gamer has to this specific of a character. average gamers cheered for Joel the most. having a well rounded understanding of his perspective as a parent.  i'm expecting lots of gamers just barely connecting to some of the segments in this game. that they would otherwise have the least amount of interest in, in real-life.

Sure identifying to a man who has become a sociopath is much easier. :)

Joel was a great character, but if most players related to him despite everything he did (before and during the game), it's because of the writing, and only because of it. So give ND some credit before judging TLOU2 and assuming that the players won't care.

Also, I sincerely hope most people have more interest in such themes in real life than in a video game. Otherwise, we live in sad, sad world. People need to learn to mind their own business and be more open-minded. Not that I think it's even remotely possible considering Man has always wanted to impose things on others. To think religion is supposed to advocate brotherhood and tolerance...

at the end of the day gamers will either enjoy the game or not.
i for one also could care less about how the two characters feel for each other.
no more than i would care if it were my neighbors. which does nothing for me anyways.
plus they fight anyways lots of times and i don't really give an ish. so good for them.

what the fuck, the whole point of going all judge dredd for the emotional peak of the game is how hard the main character took the death of her gay loved one, way more than (in this trio) the straight character would (the asian ex), and her Charles Bronson journey begins. You not caring for games story overall seems fine to me. not caring particularly for this one and felling the need to express it to all like its your right, there we have a problem and naughty dog should too.

not saying that a game like this should not be released. developers are free to write and release their games how they want to.  i just don't care as much for other's privacy. not all gamers are privy to prying into other's affairs.
and that's why many gamers will say good for them.

We couldn't do it in English but we posted a preview video of the game on the French side. We were sent some Broll footage so we used some of the extracts we saw during the State of Play and they are in 4K. It's not the best, but you can download it and turn off the sound so you don't hear me speak French. I'll do my best to propose an English video review on June 12 and we'll be allowed to capture some specific passages of the game for that purpose.

it's not really that big of deal. going way back to the mass effect series which was loaded with different mature choices. if it's in the game then it's in the game. no point in wanting content to be changed or removed. to say the least though, their relationship doesn't interest me much and it's not as involving to me as a gamer.
