Xbox 360

Vivendi has released images of TimeShift, which seems to have been enhanced alot after Atari left the project. The environments look great, but the poor impressions after the demo are hard to forget.

It could have potential. Hopefully shifting publishers will help, and not hurt this game. And also hopefully they fine tune this thing. I think it runs on the FEAR engine, does it not?

The graphics are a lot better than the half-assed build I saw back in March, it had some truly horrible textures back then. So bad even I noticed and I know nothing about graphics!

The demo was also stupidly hard I remember, no fun at all. Might show more promise in Vivendi's hands though.

Poor Atari, what happend to them. I'm hoping Test Drive is good as it's a great concept and they need a boost lately.

Stupidly hard? The game's challenging, but not that hard! The first time I played the demo I died like 2 times only.

And the fact that you MUST use your time power to survive is really cool in my opinion.

I agree, the game was hard even when set to easy.

Was it? Sounds so weird, people were talking about how easy the game would be "as you just could slow time down all the time". I haven't played it myself, in what way was it hard?

I don't see how people found this hard! Your health was automatically re-charging, you had the power to slow, to go back in and stop, time. The enemy sure do a lot of damage but come on!

I don't get why so many people say it "doesn't look next gen" if the graphics aren't so incredibly lifelike. Why can't there be a focus on the gameplay? So many games out there have looked gorgeous but ultimately were horrible because the gameplay sucked. I'm hopeful that it'll be a great game, they're taking the cliche concept of slowing, stopping and rewinding time and actually utilizing it in a way that's not just "oh crap, I died, time to rewind and not do that." You're forced to think of how to use the ability, which type to use and think of how it will impact things. If nothing else, this game could be influential in raising the bar for how gamers accept the slowing of time, perhaps now people won't be satisfied with simply being able to put things into bullet time, but actually have a purpose to it. Just wait till it comes out and give it a try, I hope that in the near future people will stop flaming games because they don't have the greatest graphics they've ever seen.

I dont usually bother to bitch about visuals but oh man, this game has to have the worst art direction I have seen a while. What are those figures supposed to be? Scarecrows? That tin guy from Oz? Other aspects look quite medicore shareware/mod quality too.
Perhaps gameplay will be that good so its easy to forget how terrible this looks. we'll see :)
