Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One

During the first day of the Tokyo Game Show 2020 online event, Square Enix announced NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... will launch April 23rd 2021 on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox One. A new trailer and screens showcase this "modern re-telling" of the 2010 action-RPG and prequel to NieR Automata.

This is NieR Replicant. The game with the dadbod as the main would be NieR Gestalt. Though, the confusion is Square-Enix's own doing because they only localized Gestalt and renamed it simply 'NieR'. While Replicant never got localized until this remaster-of-sorts.

I'd say it's visually better than Automata now. The combat doesn't look quite on par, but it definitely looks like an improvement over the original.

Thanks for the info.

Out of curiosity, since you seem to know, is Nier: Gestalt available outside of PlayStation 3? And if not, what are the differences between the Gestalt and Replicant versions? Or to better put it, which is the superior version in your opinion? Also, is it necessary to play both and/or even the Drakengard series, as this is a spin-off of it?

Apologies for so many questions, but Drakengard + Nier are a convoluted mess in regards to figuring out which should one play first, which comes first, and which sequel follows which previous entry in the(se) franchise(s).
