Deep Silver keeps releasing mood trailers of Risen, the upcoming game from Piranha Bytes (creators of the Gothic series). The release is still far away, last date mentioned was the end of this year.
Parts of it is new. This might be the game Gothic 3 never wore. Don`t know...., the animation looks boring with all these creatures skating around in the enviroment. If they keep releasing vids of the (not so impressing) landscape I am afraid that people are going do get bored.

Then again, no matter what games come out some people will alway whine. "Oh no not another of x-type game AGAIN!" feels like something you read in every other thread :P

The graphics look nice but the animation seems lacking. Also i'm no fan of the gothic games. Still a bit interesting though, hoping for a good RPG here.

not really, animations are really fine... one just need to look to the warthogs. But the turning and start/end of them, That is a bit raw, similar to mmorpgs. Need a little polish in that area.

Yeah, you're right. I actually like these kind of games and I will buy this one too if it turns out to be good. I just hope they would come up with something new instead of just recycling the old stuff. But it doesn't seem that way.
the end where it says "risen" gets me every time. it's laugh out loud level of terrible.
need to see more of this tbh. atm it's not exactly screaming "i'm awesome" pretty bad animations, LOD is horrible. maybe with a bit of polish it could be something good tho.
I was looking up some stuff yesterday. All of the footage and screenshots so far are probably from the PC version, and although the game is being designed to work well with consoles from day one, Pirhana Bytes is giving some other company the 360 port. Really hope it turns out well, but not multiplatform designed from day one might be a bad sign.
looks like alot of works ahead of it.. too much for it to hit this year. I hope it good though, i want a darker more mature version of fable - something i had high hopes The witcher would provide before they stupidly canned it.

Recycling the same old stuff is what makes money.. which is why you'll buy another fps this year. Or that next fifa, fight night, tekken, final fantasy ect ect ect.
Its not like theres a huge catalog of fantasy goblin ridden rpgs on consoles is there?
